It's a dual celebration as the Montego Bay Marine Park Trust Celebrates Decades of Environmental Stewardship on World Environment Day!
The theme of World Environment Day 2026, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future," serves as a reminder that environmental protection is not solely the responsibility of governments and conservation organizations. Every individual has a role to play through responsible waste disposal, reducing plastic use, conserving water, supporting sustainable tourism, and respecting protected areas.
June 5, 2026 marks a special occasion for environmental advocates across the globe. As we observe World Environment Day, the Montego Bay Marine Park Trust (MBMPT) is also reflecting on more than three decades of protecting and restoring the coastal resources of Montego Bay. The coincidence is fitting, as both observances share a common purpose: safeguarding the natural systems that support life, livelihoods, and future generations.
