CC Sounds Cornwall College's online extended music class CC Sounds has being created to capitalize on technology and virtual space.

Through this medium, music education at Cornwall College will become more interactive and all involved will be able to actively share in the process, on and off the campus.

Good afternoon everyone.

Students who submitted their Orchestra assignments should have received their grades. Check the email which was used to submit the project.

Get ready for more exploration into the orchestra which will include watching orchestra videos, training your ears to identify the sounds of the instruments as well as naming the instrument used.

Good afternoon everyone. Here is the revised Orchestra Project Outline for grade 8 students.

REVISED ORCHESTRA PROJECT OUTLINE

Grade 8 students, get ready for the Orchestra Project (Individual).

Part one: Individual research as follows

1. The Orchestra
• What is an Orchestra? (One Paragraph)
• Describe the different types of orchestras (One Paragraph Each)
• Give brief data on two popular orchestras from each type(One Paragraph Each)
• Picture of the typical arrangement of each type of orchestra and list the instruments used in each.

2. The Eras
Give a (one paragraph) description of 3 of the following:
• Baroque
• Romantic
• Classical
• Medieval
• Renaissance
• 20th century
i. Give the years
ii. Include three composers each
iii. Highlight 3 examples of musical pieces each

3. The People
• Who is a conductor and what are the roles? (One Paragraph)
• Give brief data on one major conductor (One Paragraph)
• Give brief data on three popular composers of music. Select from the list below:
