Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Month is a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of clean water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene practices in maintaining health and preventing disease. Access to safe water and sanitation facilities, along with practicing proper hygiene, plays a critical role in reducing the spread of infections and improving overall well-being in communities.
Hand hygiene is the simplest and most effective way to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Regular and proper handwashing removes germs, protects individuals, and helps keep families and communities safe.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the following ten steps in the video for effective handwashing to eliminate the spread of diseases. .

HIV remains one of the world’s biggest health challenges.
*Here’s what you should know:*
🦠 HIV is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system and is spread from body fluids of an infected person.
🤒 Symptoms of HIV vary, some may have flu-like illness including fever, headache, rash and sore throat.
⚠️ AIDS occurs at the most advanced stage of HIV infection.
🌍 About 40.8 million people worldwide are living with HIV.
⚕️ While there’s no cure, HIV can be prevented and treated.
*Reduce the risk of HIV by:*
🛡️ Using condoms
🩸 Testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections
✂️ Choosing medical male circumcision
💉 Getting safe help if you inject and use drugs

According to WHO, Polio is a highly infectious viral disease that mainly affects children under 5 years old. It invades the nerves system and can cause total paralysis in a matter of hours.
As we celebrate World Polio Day today October 24, 2025,here are some key facts :
💉Polio can be prevented through vaccination.
🦠As long as one child remains infected, children everywhere are at risk.
🏥Thanks to global vaccination efforts via Rotary Clubs and other world health services wild poliovirus cases have dropped by over 99% since 1988.
