Ethan’s late father had a lofty goal: should be the first in the family to attend an ivy league college. Well, Ethan will deliver on his dad’s dream when he starts at UPENN in the fall! He was accepted to not just 1 but 2 ivies and had offers from other highly selective colleges like Johns Hopkins. With well over 1 million USD in total 4-year scholarships and aid, as well as acceptances into multiple honors/scholars programs, we can all agree that Ethan would’ve made his late father proud. How did Ethan accomplish this feat? through a carefully designed application strategy that prioritised authenticity. His personal statement provided an iconoclastic perspective on his favorite video game, Destiny, and his supplements thoughtfully complemented the other elements of his application.

Ethan is one of 9 students, across Tassel’s programs in Jamaica and the USA, who secured an acceptance to at least 1 ivy league college.

When .pinchas decided to follow in her brother footsteps and study at Kent School in CT, she chose the expert team at Tassel to lead the charge. With a team based in Jamaica and the USA, we designed and executed a comprehensive application strategy that included introspective essays and memorable interviews. Eva had the advantage of working with a program lead that has not only worked at but has also attended an elite independent school. This allowed her to benefit from perspectives the traditional counselor may not be able to offer, as we were able to tap into our deep network of independent school professionals and alums to present Eva as a strong fit and a competitive candidate at her dream school.

Eva is one of 8 students who will embark on her prep/boarding school journey this fall. Our prep school/boarding school applicants secured acceptances to many of the top 25 prep schools including Deerfield, Andover, Milton, Lawrenceville, Hotchkiss, Choate and Loomis Chaffee. Other students from our SSAT Prep course have been accepted to schools like McCallie, St. Stephens Episcopal School and Fryeburg Academy.

From UWI to an elite top 20, R1 research institution, that’s what accomplished through graduate school planning. Like many students who pursue undergraduate degrees in Jamaica, graduate school in North America is part of the grand plan. Tassel congratulates Shannon on her acceptances to some of the best environmental science and energy graduate school programs across the US and Canada. Pulling on our network of professionals within the energy and environment fields, we were able to design a personalised application strategy that made Shannon a competitive candidate and with offers from schools like Duke and UBC, it’s safe to say it all worked out.

Our graduate school applicants have secured acceptances to over 15 programs this season including Harvard Law, Stanford Graduate School of Education, The Wharton School and NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Tassel can make your college dreams come true from anywhere in the world, just ask ! This Italy based student had a dream of studying in a big city at a college with a strong pre-med program. When we decided on NYU, we made sure to create an application that would reveal the sincerity and depth of her interest in the Biological Sciences. We wanted colleges to understand that Gabriela’s strength is her ability to listen thoughtfully and fully consider other perspectives and move people along the spectrum of understanding how to make this world a better place. Tassel congratulates Gabriela and wishes her all the best in her endeavours.

As a senior prefect and top performing student at Campion College, wanted to study Economics at a university that was befitting of her dazzling academic and personal accomplishments. We recommended the University of Toronto; The University of Toronto is one of Canada’s oldest and most distinguished universities with a myriad of world leading programs. We knew Xing would be a good fit for the Rotman School of Commerce and worked to thread evidence of her deeply analytical mind and keen interest in trends throughout her application. Tapping into our network of Economists, we guided Xing to create a unique application that appropriately presented her fit for the ultra competitive program.

Xing is one of 5 other students who were accepted to the University of Toronto and one of 12 students who will be studying in Canada in the fall of 2022.

Have you ever wondered what you could be doing to standout in the college application process? Oftentimes, it’s simply to be yourself... your authentic and best self. But what does that even mean? The short answer is to engage in extracurriculars, undertake projects, lead activities, choose subjects and pursue opportunities that align with what you value most. If you find your passion, you’ll be better able to find your path. Our Purpose in College Admissions Workshop explored values, passions, skills, gifts college majors and careers paths and we couldn’t be more excited about continuing this work in the one-on-one sessions to follow.
