I miss my students, their energy, music, dancing, and those little moments when they somehow know exactly what I need. When we understand who our learners are, their identity and culture can become powerful pathways to learning. 🏫✨

DOES A LEARNER’S PAST HAVE TO DICTATE THEIR FUTURE?

A learner enters secondary school without the foundation they were expected to have.

We can look backward and ask who should have done what.

Or we can look at the learner standing in front of us and ask:

What can we do now?

Meeting learners where they are does not mean lowering standards. It means understanding where they are, identifying what they need, and creating pathways that help them move forward.

I believe education must be willing to ask difficult questions—not simply about what we teach, but about how we respond when the learner doesn’t arrive as the curriculum expects.

This is a journey I intend to keep exploring—and I invite you to travel with me.
