A Kingston based company in the Financial Services Industry seeks to engage the services of a competent and experienced person to serve in the position of Information Technology Lead. This is a full-time permanent position which requires the holder to define and manage the IT infrastructure.

Training & Core competencies:
i. B. Sc. In Computer Science and/or MBA in Information Systems
ii. A professional with at least three (3) years’ experience with a background that is comprised of varied technical and business expertise.
iii. Demonstrate the ability to work with management to develop an IT Department and budget around the company's strategic plans.
iv. Plan, coordinate, and direct computer-related activities in the organization.
v. Determine the information technology goals of the organization and will be responsible for implementing the appropriate computer systems to meet those goals.
vi. This position is full-time with about 40 hours per week and may be required to work extended hours

Core responsibilities:
a. Hardware - The ability to install, troubleshoot and potentially replace components of network and computer hardware including replacing hard drives, adding memory, etc.
b. System administration experience including build and maintaining Linux systems; configuring web, database or mail services;
c. Network Administration - Experience configuring firewalls, VPN, routers, switches, wireless access points and VLANs;
d. Monitoring - Using monitoring tools to measure system and network performance and to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
e. Backups - Knowledge of backup software
f. Software - The ability to install and configure new software packages; research more efficient software deployment methods.
g. Security - Implementing monitoring tools; defining and enforcing best practices.
h. Ability to learn independently or with limited assistance.
i. A keen eye for documentation
j. Vision (and conviction) to understand how to handle the latest greatest technology fad.
