Farewell Dr Keith McKenzie

The UWI Mona salutes the memory of Dr Keith McKenzie, member of the original group of 33 students who entered the Faculty of Medicine in the then University College of the West Indies in 1948 and was also among Jamaica’s first paediatric cardiologists. In 1999, he was awarded for distinguished service to the Caribbean Cardiac Society at its 14th Annual Conference.

Dr McKenzie was a familiar figure at the annual graduation and Homecoming celebrations at the Mona Campus, and a devoted supporter of Taylor Hall, where he resided as a student.

The UWI, Mona offers its condolences to his widow Rev Dr Venice Guntley-McKenzie, his son, Dr David McKenzie, other members of his family, colleagues and friends
