When you were a child, did you ever think about where you’d get a pencil, ruler, eraser or sharpener for school? Well, there are children in places around the world who struggle with such basic needs and I was one of them. That is why I am inspired to launched the Supplies for Better Learning project.
The students at Guy’s Hill Primary School are high achievers and have excelled academically and in other areas. For example, students have also been featured consistently in the yearly Top of the Class Publication of the Daily Gleaner Newspaper.
The goal is to raise school supplies for 400 students for back to school in September 2018 (~$CDN 50 per student). Supplies include; backpack, pencils, pens, pencil cases, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, crayons, notebooks, ruled paper, geometry sets, calculators, highlighters, etc. Personal items of clothing like underwears, t shirts, socks and undershirts are also needed for the Guidance Department for the most needy students.
