Throwback to Last Semester – UTech’s First-Ever Learner’s Licence Programme

As we reflect on last semester, we are proud to highlight a major milestone for our university and the UTech Student's Union: the successful launch of our first ever Learner’s Licence Programme.

With over 500 registrations and 150+ students actively sitting their examinations, this programme demonstrated the strong demand for practical, student-centered initiatives that empower our community beyond the classroom.

We extend sincere thanks to our valued partners JAA Driving School and iDrive4Life for their collaboration and support.

Special recognition goes to Mr. Robinson, our dedicated instructor, whose guidance and expertise were instrumental to the programme’s success, and Ms. Danielle Mattis, Administrator, whose coordination and commitment ensured smooth operations throughout.

We are incredibly proud of every student who took part in this historic initiative. As we move forward, we look ahead with excitement to the continuation of the Learner’s Licence Programme for this semester and the expansion of opportunities through the introduction of our Driving Program for semester 2.

This milestone marks just the beginning, and we remain committed to delivering impactful programmes that support student growth, independence, and success⚔️💙💛

Dear Knights,

As the year draws to a close, we want to thank you for your resilience, unity, and the vibrant spirit you continue to bring to campus. This season reminds us of the importance of community, compassion, and looking out for one another—values that truly define us as Knights.

May this Christmas bring you rest after a long semester, joy with family and friends, and renewed hope as we look ahead to a brighter year. As always, the Student Services Committee remains committed to serving, supporting, and advocating for you.

From all of us, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Stay safe, stay blessed, and enjoy the holidays. 🎁✨

🇯🇲 Happy National Heroes’ Day! 💚💛🖤

Today, we honour the strength, courage, and vision of Jamaica’s National Heroes — men and women who stood boldly for freedom, equality, and justice.

Their legacy reminds us that true heroism lives in everyday acts of service, leadership, and perseverance. As students and future leaders, may we continue to build on their example and help shape the Jamaica they dreamed of.
