As consumers we need our food security and safety, Jamaica food sovereignty is important. With over US 1.4bn food import bill and an increasing NCD (non communicable disease) among the population, we ask for your support in sponsorship or a donation in registration to enable a farmer, teacher, student, agro-processor and the small hotels to attend. If you are a manufacturer or you are in the tourism industry, this conference is for you. The future generation dépends on all of us for our culture through our food. 🎙️ Speaker Spotlight: Dr Lisa Ackerley
We are delighted to introduce one of our headline speakers for the 10th International Food Security and Sovereignty Conference 2026!
Dr Lisa Ackerley is a leading authority in food safety and public health with over four decades of experience. An elected Trustee of CIEH, Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, and Professorial Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, Lisa has an extraordinary breadth of knowledge and influence - from co-founding Hygiene Audit Systems to advising the UK’s Department of Health and Food Standards Agency.
She is currently Director of the Public Health Company Ltd and Chair of the Board of the Reckitt Global Hygiene Institute, and publishes regularly in peer-reviewed journals.
At the conference, Lisa will deliver a paper on Climate Change and Food Safety and chair panel sessions - bringing the kind of insight and authority that makes this a must-attend event, especially if you are in the hospitality industry.
