"STEAM Literacy - Leveraging STEAM Education to Support Critical Comprehension and Innovative Thinking"

Teachers of all grade levels and content areas can now get certified in facilitating critical comprehension and integrate STEAM- based instruction, activities and assessments in any core content lesson.

This course was designed to build the capacity of all in-service teachers in facilitating the development of critical comprehension skills of their students.

The course aims to help teachers to become more equipped to incorporate interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary practices in their lesson planning and instructional design processes, use knowledge of multiple intelligences and neurodivergent learning needs to foster student assimilation through differentiated instruction and promote collaboration, discovery learning, creativity, and experimentation for their students to demonstrate critical comprehension and innovative thinking using a STEAM based instructional framework.

This new short course is accessible over 10 weeks through a fully online modality.

Live Zoom classes are facilitated once every two weeks from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m.
Participants will also have unlimited access to a Moodle virtual classroom including asynchronous (self paced) activities with all required class materials.

The course covers 3 units -
Unit 1: Facilitating Critical Comprehension
Unit 2 : The Science of Learning
Unit 3 : The STEAM Methodology for Instruction and Assessment

Certification from the Mico University College -
Upon completion the participant receives a certificate with a 2 Credit value at the undergraduate level.
