Theme: United in Celebrating Resilience

Today, we pause to honour the courage, resilience and unwavering spirit of our ancestors whose sacrifices paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today.

As part of Manchester's Emancipation Vigil, the Custos Rotulorum of Manchester, Lt. Garfield Green delivered the historic Emancipation Proclamation, reminding us of the significance of August 1, 1834 and the importance of preserving our rich heritage.

We invite our Devon Primary & Infant School family to reflect on this important moment in Jamaica's history and to continue inspiring our children to value freedom, unity, resilience and national pride.
