A couple of snapshots of the children following teacher led activities this week..

Hello and welcome back to families old and new…

We have had a lovely couple of days making new friends and learning all our new routines.

It has been wonderful to see all the children settle into Acorn life and we are looking forward to getting to know each and every one of them! 👧👦

A little snapshot of the last week of term…

The sun shone for our music concert in the courtyard and we wished a fond farewell to all our foundation stage children who are flying the Acorn nest today. We have loved watching you all grow and know you are ready to take the next step in moving on to ‘big school’.

We hope all our families and followers have a wonderful summer holiday and we look forward to welcoming children into Acorn in September. 🌳

Despite the changeable weather our younger children have been thinking about the Sea side and delicious ice creams🍦

This week we have been exploring patterns. We have dressed in stripes and noticed how they repeat. Other patterns are more random as we discovered on Wednesday when the children wore patterns of their choice. We looked at all the patterns in our natural world like stripy zebras and spotty fish. We all decided that we like patterns! 🎨

🎶 For every bear that ever there was, will gather there for certain because, today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic 🎶

What a beautiful afternoon for our annual Teddy Bear’s picnic. It is always a highlight of our year and it was lovely to welcome all the families into Acorn’s garden 🌸 🧺 🌳

We welcomed all the Daddy’s into Acorn for some breakfast and a play in the garden to celebrate Father Day.

Wishing them all a very special day tomorrow 💚

Our summer term activities move outside so that the children can follow their interests in our beautiful garden.☀️ 🪴

This week some of our younger children have been thinking about dinosaurs and have been busy creating their own dinosaur ‘swamps’ and ‘eggs’ 🥚 🦕

We hope you all have a wonderful half term break and look forward to welcoming all the children back on Monday 3rd June☀️

We were treated to a visit from one of our wonderful Acorn parents, who is also a professional artist.

Mrs Bonn came in to help the children make their own screen prints. It was a fabulous morning enjoyed by both children and staff. 🎨

We have been getting very green fingered with Mrs Wright this term. The children sowed sunflowers and sweet peas a couple of weeks ago and they are all very excited to take them home for replanting. 🌻 🌸

Our Acorn vegetable patch has peas, beans and potatoes which we can’t wait to try soon! 🥔 🫛 🫘

We were spoilt with a beautiful sunny day for our beach visit this week. The book ‘Eddie the Pebble’ inspired our art activity, which was written and illustrated by one of our lovely parents from last year. 📖 🏖️ 🎨 🖍️ 🪨
