I'm so happy with my amazing client Jessica's progress so far!!๐Ÿ˜

We've just completed phase 1 and these are the results that she's achieved so far.

6 lbs down on the scales and a drop in cms from every measuring point of her body.

I can't wait to see where this young lady will be at the end of initial 12 weeks.

Here's an approach for you to consider before you step into the week that lies ahead..

Instead of trying to do more this week. What if you managed your time better so you could actually get more done in less time?๐Ÿค”

You may currently feel overwhelmed each day due to the never ending amount of tasks that are thrown your way. And on top of all of that you feel like you're a million miles away of achieving your desired goals.

The 80/20 rule.

โ˜๏ธNot the same as the nutrition approach that I did a post about the other week.

But instead, in relation to your inputs and outcomes when it comes to your daily tasks. Meaning that 20% of your inputs are responsible for roughly 80% of your tasks. In other words, about 20% of your tasks and activities are actually responsible for 80% of your desired outcomes.

โ˜๏ธWhich in summary means that only a few things truly matter.

If you want to make progress with any aspect of your life, you need to focus the biggest % of your time and energy on those tasks that actually give you a valuable return on investment.

You see it really doesn't matter on how many things you do each day and each week, but instead the value that you create by doing those things.

So this week get ruthless in identifying the tasks that are actually important in relation to your desired goals, protect your valuable time for those tasks and do them as effectively as possible.

Seeing as it's valentines day I thought I'd remind you that the most important love you can give is the one you give to yourself.

Love yourself by feeding your body with foods that nourish.

Love yourself by exercising with the body you've been blessed with.

Love yourself with thoughts and words that strengthen you, not one's that harm you.

Love yourself and all that you do.

MINDSET 2: 'I feel good about myself because I am making my health a priority'๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Who is guilty of having mindset number 1?โœ‹

Yes, you may not feel satisfied that you haven't reached your goals yet.

However, you should feel good about yourself because you are working on getting there.

So, let's try a little more of mindset number 2 this week.๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

And if you are already making your health a priority, you should give yourself credit.

It's the beginning of the year and it's very tempting to set yourself a goal to lose a large amount of weight in a small amount of time.

But I'm here to remind you...

In January 2022 you won't care if it took you 3, 6, 9 or 12 months to reach your goal.

You will just be glad you were able to create habits & achieve consistent progress throughout 2021.

Rush it and you run the risk of losing the weight and gaining it all back soon after just to be back to square one again.

Trust the procees, do the work and remember that good things take time.

It may sound like a lot but it'll soon be here before you know it.

So ladies, I recommend you starting to change some habits if you haven't done so already.

Perhaps...

๐Ÿ‘‰ Going to bed a little earlier instead of binging on Netflix - so you can get up a little earlier to get some steps or a workout in.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Prepping your lunches a couple of x a week instead of grabbing a meal deal from your closest supermarket - so you have full control over your nutrition.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Investing in a coach or finding an accountability partner - so you have an increased chance of succeeding.

Or it'll soon be a few weeks before bikini season and you won't have the confidence to wear one.

Yes I know the current circumstances with Covid are aren't ideal.

But you still have the capability to make this Summer your most confident one yet!

Weight is one aspect of your progress, not the total result. Of course itโ€™s nice to see the numbers getting lower each week, but let's just take a moment to establish what it is that you really want.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ

If I said to you โ€˜You wonโ€™t lose any weight, but youโ€™ll drop 2 dress sizes in the next 12 weeksโ€™, would you be happy? Of course you would. Therefore donโ€™t get solely fixated on the numbers on that daunting box.

Although in some cases weight loss is important, I just want to highlight that itโ€™s not the only factor along your health and fitness journey.

Itโ€™s important that your relationship with the result, and more importantly your understanding of this result is of a healthy level.

Let me tell you why getting disheartened is not the reaction you need to have if you donโ€™t see a reduction on the scales eadt week.

There are so many reasons why your body can fluctuate in weight day to day, and week to week.

And here are just 3 of them:

1- Fluctuations in fibre intakes can prolong the time it takes for food to move through the digestive system - this will increase your WEIGHT, not fat.

2. Peaks in carb intake can help replenish glycogen stores in the muscle tissue and liver. Storing glycogen increases WEIGHT, not fat.

3. If you weigh yourself in a dehydrated state, then again in a hydrated state, you will WEIGH more - Becase morenfluid = more weight.

So use scales as just an average, along with monthly progress photos, taking measurements and dress sizes to gauge your progress too.

There's no 'perfect' ๐™ˆ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™š, but if you want to be the best you can possibly be it's vital that you have one.โฐ

I took a bit of a set back when Covid hit and fell out of routine with quite a lot of things, including my morning routine.

But I'm back and this is what my typical morning looks like...

Down a pint of water - If I don't do this I know there's a high chance of getting a heachache later in the day. It also sets me up to drink lots of it throughout the day.

Cold shower - I should have put ice cold shower haha. This is the famous Wim Hof technique that's been proven to strengthen the immune system a long with so many more benefits. And it sure does wake you up - similar to the effect of a double espresso!๐Ÿฅถ

Stretch & listen - It's proven that if our body is tense that you're a lot more likely to experience stress so stretching or doing a yoga flow should be part of everyone's morning ritual IMO. And the 'listen' bit means a podcast. I love to be inspired by other people's stories first thing and it makes stretching a lot easier.

Gratitude - It's easy to get caught up about the things we don't have, especially during a pandemic. So reminding yourself of the 3-5 things you're most grateful for every day and writing them down bold and clear is a great way of staying positive and also to give you that get up and go, so you can crush the day!

Some days I might have to change the order of this slightly, usually dependant on my kids waking up early but I've been sticking with the above for the past couple of weeks and I feel so much more focused from doing so!๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

If itโ€™s ok this once, lower standards will be ok tomorrow.

Until in the end, you arenโ€™t maintaining any standards at all, and you feel like s**t about how youโ€™ve backslid in lockdown.

Itโ€™s not about setting yourself an impossible target. But more about identifying those non-negotiable in your day.
