After School Clubs and Holiday club care for 4-11yrs. The Timetable
Each day begins at 9.30 and finishes at 3.30 with a break for lunch at 12.30. For Whom? Ed.
"For over 25 years Freedom Activity Camp provided exceptional activity courses during the school vacations. It is my aim to ensure that the After-School Club maintains the ethos and high standards set by Freedom Activity Camp "
Jim Westwater B.Sc., B.A., M.A.(Ed.) Director, Freedom Activity Camp & Freedom After-School Clubs
The Activities
The activities vary according to the season but you can no
rmally choose from mini cricket, football, racquet sports (tennis, short tennis and badminton), rounders, performing arts, basketball, 5-a-side, art & craft, pottery, and multisports (a different sport each day, such as field and track athletics, touch rugby, soft baseball and so on). Participants may be dropped off from 8.30 and will be fully supervised until the morning activities commence. The camp day is divided into three sessions. During the morning session, the coaches will concentrate on improving basic techniques and ability within your chosen activity, whilst the afternoon sessions will be more fun based with the emphasis on activity and enjoyment. You will be required to take part in one morning activity and two different afternoon activities and you will continue with your three chosen activities all week. Participants
Boys and girls aged from reception age to 13 are welcome to come along and take part in the activities. Younger Participants
The younger children are monitored very carefully and if it is felt that any children are having difficulty coping within the main group, they will be offered a place in a smaller group continuing with less rigorous activities. Parents will be informed if this affects their children and further, any parents who feel this may be the most appropriate option for their children should speak with the manager. There is no extra cost for this option. Weather
In the event of rain we may have to replace some of the outside activities with the option of inside games. This will only be done if it becomes necessary and children will revert to their outside choices when the weather permits. What You Need
You need to bring suitable kit for your chosen activity, a packed lunch (no fizzy drinks please), and plenty of energy and enthusiasm. You may bring your own clearly labelled equipment if you wish, (tennis racquets etc), although all the necessary equipment can be provided. Please do not bring valuables or money; we cannot be responsible for their security. Lost Property
Every camp leaves us with a variety of unlabelled lost property. We ask that you make sure all of your child's kit is clearly identifiable. We would like to ensure that they leave with all that they brought ! The Staff
The coaches are all teachers, qualified coaches or students specifically chosen for their knowledge of a particular sport or activity and their understanding of the needs and requirements of young children in these situations. Staffing
We aim to maintain the best possible ratio of staff to children. The overall ratio is normally one member of staff to 8 children, although this may vary from group to group and depends upon the nature of the activity. All staff are police checked, trained in safeguarding and qualified in first aid. After Hours Supervision
As an extension of the After School Club operated by Freedom, there is the opportunity for parents to choose to have their children remain on the premises and continue with different activities until no later than 5:30pm. The children will be taken at 3.30pm to a specific room at Grainville School and will remain there until collected by a parent. Once there, the children will be provided with a substantial snack and will have access to several high quality board games, art materials, books, a computer, a TV and DVD with a wide selection of DVD’s. This facility is aimed at primary aged children, and if required, must be booked at time of application. There is additional cost for this extension to the camp. Camp Dates For 2021

Where and when? Freedom Activity Camp operates an after school club at St. Luke's, First Tower, St Clement, St Saviour and St. Lawrence School. The club is open during every school day of the year. The club welcomes children from 3:00 pm onwards and cares for them until 6:00pm (5:30 St Lawrence). We are happy to register boys and girls who are of primary school age. The Activities
Children will have a number of choices each day. They will always be able to sit quietly and chat, read or do their homework; there is a large selection of games and activities for them to opt for if they wish. Most weeks we will provide coaching in a special activity that the children may participate in. This will depend entirely on the availability of coaching staff and the specialist area required in the school; the activities are likely to be badminton, music or art & craft. The Staff
All of the “full time” staff will be qualified or working towards gaining qualifications in childcare. The specialist coaches are either qualified teachers or are qualified as coaches in the discipline in which they offer tuition. All members of staff are police checked and all staff will have satisfactorily completed the mandatory health check and are first aid and child protection trained. Ratio
A staff to child ratio of 1:10 or better will be maintained at all times. From time to time there will be students of childcare in the club. The students will be participating as assistants and using the work experience as part of their training towards a childcare qualification. The students will not count towards the staffing ratio. Snack
The children will be offered a substantial snack shortly after arriving. The snack will consist of a choice of drinks and something to eat. The foods on offer may include: a slice of pizza, filled sandwich, filled roll, fish fingers or something similar, followed by a piece of cake, yoghurt or an item of fruit. Parental preferences will be respected and where possible the personal likes and dislikes of the children will be catered for. The children may be able to bake or prepare the snack when it is appropriate to do so. The Cost
The cost is £77.50 per week. Whilst we still have spaces available, parents may register for fewer days, for which the charge will be £15.50 per day (as St Lawrence is open for less time, the cost is £62.50 per week/£12.50 per day). We offer a 10% discount where two or more children from the same family attend together. Fees may be paid monthly over twelve months or you can chose to be invoiced every month. A discounted rate will apply if you always pick up your child before 4:30 pm. Fees will cover all supervision, tuition, the snacks provided and the use of all equipment and materials. Tax Allowances
Freedom Activity Camp is a registered child care facility. Parents may, dependent upon their individual circumstances, be able to claim a tax allowance on the fees paid. Administration
Overall responsibility for the administration of the club and the organisation of the activities will be in the hands of Jim Westwater. Jim is an experienced educational administrator and manager and has been a director of Freedom Activity Camp since 1989. To Book

What we got up to yesterday… 🐾🌿
The nature garden transformed into a mini animal kingdom as the children brought their clay creatures to life! 🐸🦔🐌
Using sticks, leaves, flowers and all sorts of natural treasures they discovered, their imaginations ran wild 🍃🌸🪵 Every animal had its own personality!
We loved seeing their creativity shine ✨
We’re so grateful to Janvrin Primary School for letting us use this wonderful space 💚
