My first time logging in since June and whoa, I feel rather rusty. Just passing by to drop a quick thank you post for all the support this year! For those who have worked with me, a thank you for your hard work and for your business!

This year was perhaps the toughest in many respects; but the most rewarding/insightful year I’ve ever had. We battled with a narcissist for the most part of this year. This resulted in us making the most educated professional decision yet; to end that business relationship. It also resulted in us making the toughest decision; the resulting closure of our PT Studio.

I could tell you about all the stuff I’ve had to go through this year but no need; instead I tell you that I “discovered” the practice of meditation and truthful mindfulness - not to be confused with the jibba jabba some people try to sell you over here. I’ve discovered a lot about myself and more importantly, a lot about life. I currently feel like a completely different person to the one I was a year ago - I mean, life is all about growing right?

I no longer power lift. In fact, I mostly weight train 2-3x per week. I have also found my enthusiasm for yoga - which has not only benefitted me physically but more importantly, my mind and my outlook on life.

I’ve almost entirely stopped online coaching too. I work solely with a handful of people now. This year really burned me out and I started to see many cracks appear. This allowed bad habits to creep in so I decided it was time to cut back on my working hours and invest more in myself.

As we approach the end of the year, I advise you to not make “new year resolutions” but instead, make “past year reflections”, think about what you may have overcome, what you have learned, the connections you’ve made and consider your personal growth and development.

Go into the new year excited about the things to come (both good and bad) and remember, you can’t control everything but you can most certainly control how you respond and react.

Big love to you all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ❤️

PS: I will continue to discontinue the use of Instagram. For business enquiries, hit up the link in the description x

Will you look at that, absolutely incredible work by online client Patrick!

Patrick has been chasing a 240kg sumo deadlift for years... 5 years ago his best was 225kg!

Last week, not only did he hit his goal, he pulled 15kg more than projected after having peaked very nicely for this attempt, hitting a lifetime PR of 30kg for a whopping 255kg deadlift at 51yrs old!

The journey hasn’t been easy but very humbling for me. Imagine being old enough to be someone’s dad and disregard everything you’ve learned and read over the years and put your full trust on a person almost half your age to achieve a massive goal like this!

During the past 15months we’ve worked together, Patrick lost a fair amount of bodyfat to get him into a healthy range (health should always be the priority), then we addressed mobility, movement efficiency and worked on new and old injuries which are bound to happen but thankfully Paul Frankham has been a god send for this guy and together we’ve managed to work around Patrick’s injuries while still training.

And for those of you that really want to get strong, speak to him... the biggest learning curve for Patrick was to stop maxing out in the gym so often (almost weekly in some cases). Last week was the first time I gave him the green light to go for it, in 15 months!

Now onto new goals 😎

Amazing work mate, amazing!

The process of 5 months work and 2 months preparation... I just couldn’t be happier/prouder of and !

These 2 got unreal results, both getting to the leanest they have ever been, learned so much about training and nutrition but also the psychological effects of what pushing your body to this level really does to you, it’s definitely not for everybody!

Lucy dropped just over 6kg and Rosie dropped 11kg. Up until the last 4-5 weeks they were both still getting stronger in the gym with what I’d regard as minimal/moderate cardio.

What I believe made this prep so successful, was the preparation before hand and the fact that they both had an incredible diet and a good relationship with food, which should in my opinion be a priority before committing to something like this as well as outstanding communication between the 3 of us, on the good days, the bad days and the really bad days.

What’s next? First we have a recovery phase where we will phase out of calorie tracking, we’ve disregarded scale weight entirely, we are aiming to gain some healthy bodyfat (priority number 1) to allow hormones to settle (mainly appetite hormones), then we are picking some performance orientated goals and work on personal/social areas that took a bit of a back seat during this training period.

Amazing job ladies, very well done!

Online client .tom cleaning a 10kg PB on bench press, with a 130kg single!

We met up a few weeks ago to make some small tweaks to how he was positioning the shoulders and some cues to maximise strength and the “grinding” element of the press and here we have the by product of those tweaks, whilst he prepares for the big wedding day in a few months time!

Not a common occurrence seeing a bloke bench 130kg in a commercial gym, so well done buddy!

We have all moved locations 😎

From now on, ourselves and the rest of the crew will be operating from continuing freelancing as we were.

We have combined our own kit with Elevate’s own set up to bring together a well equipped Personal Training facility, perhaps the biggest in Jersey now. The facility focusses solely on Personal Training, Physio and Classes (no commercial gym memberships are available).

You do not require a membership or a joining fee to work with any of us, all you need to do is to show up and get a sweat on 😁

We are bringing with us the ethos we have developed, just a bloody good working and training environment, for both members and staff!

A special thanks to everyone that has supported us and helped us with everything, it’s been incredibly overwhelming receiving that much support over the past few months, even from people we don’t know! (Friends, family, family friends, clients, clients friends etc).

Lastly, thank you to our team who have been flawless and incredibly supporting and helpful, it really means a lot to us ♥️.

Lastly, to Mark and the team, thank you for a warm welcome and for helping us make the transition smoothly!

has gone and done it!!!!

We’ve been working torwards a 100kg bench press for months now. Why 100kg? Because it was a goal he had in mind for a while.

This was his second attempt in one week (on Thursday). We tried it on the previous session but he got too nervous 🤣 so on this session I told him this was the last warm up before trying 100kg again and voilá!

A little lie every now and then goes places 😳.

Very good mate, very good!

1:1 client .jerseylive.lives_on showing some awesome improvement in her leg strength (unilateral). Before she couldn’t do this bw, now we just have the stability to tidy up a bit and adjust her ground contact and it’s perfecto 😎.

This lady has come on heaps. She’s hitting balls like never before (racket ball), her stability and strength is improving each month and now so is her coordination and confidence.

We’ve been working together for a year which I find bonkers, feels like a few months!

We’re now prepping for a solid week of racket ball in Boston, USA 🇺🇸, in May.

Phenomenal work Rachel 😘.

Online client Patrick starting some momentum on sumo deadlifts!

I’ve been working with Patrick for over a year. We’ve got him in a healthier body weight and lately we’ve been managing some injuries, rehabbing them with Paul Frankham (physio I work closely with), touch wood, hopefully seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

This guy has an incredible passion for powerlifting (shows in his strength) and he really wants that 240kg deadlift, so we are working on it!

Training Patrick has changed my views on my training approach when it comes to progression. Only so often we put the foot on the gas and progress is made VERY slowly. Last Thursday we pushed Sumos a little bit to see how the body felt, the strength is definitely there 😎.

Excited for continued progress! If you see him in the gym and you’re into powerlifting and heavy lifting in general, say hello!

YOUR METABOLISM ISN’T BROKEN, IT ADAPTS!

I get asked on a weekly basis “How can I fix my metabolism, I’m pretty sure it’s broken because no matter how good I am being, I just can’t seem shift this weight and I feel like I’m eating next to nothing”.

It was so much to write that I ended up print screening my explanation regarding “broken metabolism”, flick left to read 😎.

It’s important to note that under reporting (lack of tracking accuracy) is often the culprit of your lack of progress, so although you may think you are eating 1200 calories (most women go for this figure, not wrong but not necessarily right either), you could in fact be eating 1600 without realising... but that’s a topic for another day.

Today I wanted to explain your metabolism in a little more detail because understanding how it works, may allow you to change how you do things, for the better.

It’s not just a matter of calories in vs calories out folks...

Tag your friend below if you think this might help. Also feel free to pop me a message if you’re confused or you want more info 🤓.

and more good news this week :). We have another team member officially joining the team! Give her a follow😘
・・・
Hey everyone 🤗 I’m really happy to officially and finally announce that I have started doing Personal Training with .

I have been toying with the idea of doing coaching for quite a while. Everyone that knows me, knows how much I love this industry and how it has changed my life and health for the better.

I feel ready to share my passion and enthusiasm with everyone and apply my new found knowledge to help you improve physically and mentally because you can’t put a price on your health 😜.

I will be offering all you peeps a FREE consultation going through your goals and your needs as well as a full movement screening to see how well you move first, going through any previous or current injuries, so that I can then advise you on the best plan for you to begin with. With this I will also be offering your first session after the consultation FREE.

If you like the idea or you just want a little chat about how I could potentially help you, I am a message away or we can arrange a phone call.

I’m bloody excited hehe! 😆
