Yesterday, the Napa Medical team were out and about at Victoria College Jersey delivering our Qualsafe Combined Emergency First Aid at Work & Paediatric First Aid Course! 🎓👶🚑

Love this!! ♥️ Jersey Heart Support Group

When a heart stops, survival is measured in minutes, and the single biggest factor is whether a bystander starts CPR before the professionals arrive. Sweden built a system to put a trained bystander there on purpose.

The country signed up thousands of people trained in basic life support and wired them into the emergency dispatch system through a phone app. When a call reports a suspected cardiac arrest, the software pings every trained volunteer within a short radius. Those close enough drop what they're doing and run for the address while the ambulance is still on its way.

Roughly four in ten times, one of these volunteers is first through the door, so chest compressions often begin minutes earlier than they otherwise would. Those extra minutes often decide whether the patient lives. Researchers who studied the scheme found it measurably raised the rate of bystander CPR, and several other countries have since built their own versions.

Well, we never saw this coming... and we're really cut up about it.

After 20 years of loyal service, the Acorn Woodshack chainsaw has finally decided it's time to log off for good.

Unfortunately, without it, our winter plans could be cut short, and that's not something we'd like to branch into.

A replacement chainsaw will cost around £900, so we're reaching out to our community to see if anyone can help us get back on track. Every day, our Woodshack team works hard creating beautiful creations while also providing work and training opportunities for Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition to develop skills, confidence and take steps towards employment. We'd hate to see them left stumped.

Our competition winner brought in their newly gifted YoYo, it had been hidden away and picked up the usual dust, crumbs and “life happens” build‑up.

Today it got the full NAPA deep clean and steam sanitisation. We even took the opportunity to catch a few rays while giving it the full treatment.

Bodily fluids are no match for our team of cleaning hero’s.

Fresh, safe and ready for all those mischievous adventures.
