Kent Organ School

Kent Organ School KOS promotes the pipe organ, the King of Instruments and offers quality tuition and support for organists of all ages.

The King of Instruments, is the most spectacular instrument, however, in recent years, for various reasons, the numbers of students taking up the instrument has continued to decline nationally. The Kent Organ School is the brainchild of Francis Murton, an organist and teacher who has over twenty years experience working as a Director of Music in three leading independent schools. His mission is to

take the mystery out of the organ, bring new interest to the instrument and through the KOS, help to grow the numbers of organ students in the area, with quality teaching and playing. The KOS is based at St Mary’s Church in Wingham, where the large and exciting instrument has been made available to the school: the church is keen for the use of the organ to develop and want to encourage new students to learn.
