Aiming to provide a quality early years educational environment for young children, aged 0 to school aged, in a home environment. A positive home link is important in encouraging consistency in care and a long term partnership. Therefore we always welcome parents and families to come for a visit... mums and dads can come visit on their lunch break, or just meet us in town! HomeGrown Childcare is b
ased in my home, which is a 4 bed townhome. The playroom is on the ground floor with direct access to the garden, toilet and kitchenette. It has a cosy corner for reading, gross motor area, pretend play and exploration areas. We will eat breakfast and lunch upstairs in the kitchen and lounge area. The house is in a new development with lots of children and friendly neighbours. There are fields and green lanes within walking distance. Playing around outside on scooters and push toys is always a fun part of the day. The learning environment at HomeGrown is fun and spontaneous. Instead of having an over-abundance of toys, I prefer to have various activities (changed daily) where we can sit together and explore.... from messy play, arts and crafts, exploring nature, etc. My own children (and previous childcare children), spent time doing heuristic play and treasure baskets. It was a great experience for them, and therefore we’ll do this often! I value incidental learning and therefore our routine is somewhat flexible. Each child has a home diary so parents can see what we are doing. Scrapbooking and documenting our fun with photos is a necessity too! Helping others and team work is very much valued at HomeGrown. It is important that everyone in our little ‘community’ feels valued and happy. We encourage everyone to contribute no matter how big or small they are. Respect is also a ‘core’ value. We learn to respect each other and our environment around us... from the bugs outside to the toys we play with. HomeGrown Children are happy and well behaved! Good behaviours are reinforced with praise and attention; inappropriate behaviours are redirected or ignored whenever possible. Through guidance and gentle encouragement, HomeGrown children learn to share, make compromises, and be kind to ourselves and others. Thank you for your interest. Please ring if you would like more information or to come for a visit.
