👋🥺💙 S A Y G O O D B Y E ! 💙🥺👋

I had the best last week of term with you all, thank-you for your positive vibes and gorgeous energy to help us finish on a ‘high’!

I also wanted to say a heart felt thank-you 🙏 for all the thoughtful and kind gifts, cards and words you have given me since announcing our closure. Your support, not just through attending classes (some of you termly for up to 3 years!) but with everything that has happened recently has truly been amazing and I couldn’t have done any of it without you all.

Whilst it is 'Goodbye' from me, Toddler Sense®️ Jersey will be opening up again in early 2026! If you would like to be kept up-to-date with information around this please e-mail [email protected] to be added to the mailing list. There is also a potential Class Leader role looking to be filled so please make contact via the same e-mail to express your interest.

If you do need to venture out in hot weather, try scheduling activities earlier or later in the day when the temperature is cooler.

S O C I A L S K I L L S & M A K I N G F R I E N D S ! 👭

One of the special parts of Toddler Sense®️ is the opportunity for children to begin developing social awareness, navigating other children around them, learning early skills such as communication, sharing and turn-taking and for older toddlers, building friendships through collaborative play.

These photos illustrate the latter with three children (3 years +) who enjoy playing together in our sessions. I particularly love the photo of K giving A a 'helping hand' on to the balance beam - showing such empathy, patience and kindness - ultimate friendship goals, even for us as adults! 🙌

Howdy partners...we had a wonderful time pretending to be cowboys and cowgirls in our classes last week.

We took great care of the animals on the ranch, rode our horses to the saloon, made music 🎶 with percussion instruments and finished with dancing to Cotton Eyed Joe!

Well done everyone and as they say in the Wild West..

Fresh air is highly underrated! 💨🍃🌤 It brings more oxygen to the brain, muscles, tissues and cells, which in turn affects mental and physical performance.

Making sure that you and your toddler are getting plenty of clean, fresh air is the best way to keep the brain functioning at full capacity. 🧠

Thank-you to Emma for sharing these lovely photos of Oscar enjoying our Frisky Frog session at Toddler Sense®️ this week!

My favourite activity was rowing our boat on the pond, forwards and backwards, bobbing side to side and moving up and down with the ripples. What did you and your little one enjoy most?

Don't forget...the wonderful Frisky Frog song is available to download on all major streaming platforms - it is great to listen to with it's summer / chilled vibe, and simple, repetitive language or perhaps, similar to our session activity, you can hide some toys ('frogs') in the garden to return to the pond (paddling pool?) for some outdoor Frisky Frog fun!

Two core elements of a Toddler Sense®️ session are providing opportunities for movement and mobility.

This is achieved through both our Adventure Play time and Guided Activities. We prepare and use equipment, resources and music to support your child's development in the following areas:

⭐ Gross motor skills (or the 'big' movements) which include running, crawling, climbing, sliding, bouncing, jumping and rolling;

⭐ Balance and co-ordination;

⭐ Throwing and catching skills;

⭐ Upper body, shoulder and arm movements;

⭐ Core strength and stability;

⭐ Physical self-expression;

⭐ A love for being physically active, supporting a healthy lifetstyle;

⭐ Burning off some of that wonderful toddler energy helps nervous system regulation, focus and attention.

💙⭐ Dr Lin Day, Founder of Toddler Sense® previously founded Woodford Nursery School and during that time, developed a lot of the theory and ideas we see in our classes today. 🙌 Every activity within the programme from music and movement to building, bouncing, storytelling, 'real' life exercises, and adventure themes were based on Lin’s experiences and training over a period of over 40 years. This is how our well known catch phrase "we do the research, so you can enjoy the fun" came about! ⭐💙
