Ιn a world where the environmental crisis is no longer just a cold, abstract concept in a textbook but reality, a group of students in Kastoria decided they had had enough of just reading about the problem. They didn't want to sit back and inherit a grey world. They wanted to build a green one.

How can a Global Citizenship Education initiative on AI defuse social tensions and strengthen intercultural dialogue?

Can we be Polish, European, and global citizens at the same time?

In this short video, Ela Olczak and Marta Gontarska from Grupa Zagranica Czas na edukację globalną reflect on what global citizenship really means. They explain why our local, national, European, and global identities do not compete with one another, but are deeply interconnected.

The conversation also explores the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes that help us understand an increasingly interconnected world - from critical thinking and responsible consumption to solidarity, openness, and respect for diversity.

This video was created as part of our project, which promotes global citizenship education and supports educators in helping learners understand global challenges and our shared responsibility for the future.

The full videocast (in Polish) was produced in collaboration with SOS for Education, a coalition of more than 80 organisations working to build a better, more forward-looking education system by advocating for improvements in national education policy.

🌏 Earth Overshoot Day is here.
As of today, we have already used up all the natural resources that our planet can regenerate in a full year.

We’ve covered this topic, along with other issues related to the environment, resources, and waste, in our new handbook "Global Geography of Social Challenges" and its thematic maps.

Check out our Ecological Footprint and Earth Overshoot Day map and use it in class with your students 👉 https://www.globaleducationtime.eu/download/ecological-footprint/

Discover on our Youtube channel, the "Youth Making Things Happen" exhibition in Alpiarça (Portugal): a Youth Action created by students involved in the GET project, showcased through a video produced by them.

Our thanks go to the teachers involved, the young people who created the exhibition, and Rafaela Moreira, Maria Marques, and Neuza Ramalho for realising the reel.

The GET Youth Actions continue across Europe, empowering informed, critical, and active citizenship, and demonstrating how youth can make a tangible difference within their local communities.
