DO KNOW WHERE YOUR MICROPHONE IS
This will help you avoid making any noises that might disrupt the sound in your online lesson.
Your microphone is either in front of your mouth, on your headphone cable or built into the front of your computer or device.

DON’T BREATHE DOWN THE MICROPHONE
If you are using a headset, don’t blow or breathe onto the microphone. Any sounds you make can be heard by everyone else - and breathing can be very loud!

DON’T PLAY WITH YOUR MICROPHONE
The microphones on smartphone headphones are usually very good at removing background noise, but if you touch the microphone or rub it against your clothing, the noise could be very distracting.

DON’T RUSTLE PAGES OVER YOUR MICROPHONE
If your microphone is built into your computer or device, take care not to make noises with paper or anything else over or near the microphone. Turning pages, typing or searching for your keys can sound very loud.

DO BE AWARE OF SOUNDS AROUND YOU
If you can't avoid being in a noisy environment, MUTE your microphone whenever you aren't speaking.
