Created in memory of the great Hungarian conductor Sir Georg Solti, the Georg Solti Accademia has been training the next generation of opera singers since 2004, offering courses based in Tuscany, Venice, and Beijing.

Introducing Redmond Sanders! Recipient of the Thierry Mermod Prize at the Verbier Festival 2024, baritone Redmond Sanders joined the Opera School at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2024. He will join the Young Artist Program in September 2026.

Performance highlights include; Antonio in Le Nozze Di Figaro, his international debut on the main stage at the Verbier Festival; Ein Capadoccier, Salome, London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano; and the title role in Owen Wingrave, Britten at the GSMD.

Redmond returns to as a member of the Atelier Lyrique to cover Germont and sing Baron Douphol in Verdi’s La Traviata this summer.

Introducing Emilio Vásquez! A native of Manvel, Texas, Emilio is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Opera at the Curtis Institute of Music as the William J. Fenza Fellow.

Recent performances include Demetrius in the 2026 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Pangloss in Candide, and Schaunard in La bohème.

He has appeared twice as a Gerdine Young Artist with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and as a Steans Vocal Fellow at , and has participated in master classes with Jake Heggie, Lawrence Brownlee, Ana María Martínez, and Paul Groves.

Meet Ferdinand Muradyan (Bass, Armenia). Ferdinand is in his second year at Mascarade Opera, performing in the role of Zuniga in Carmen at the Staatstheater Augsburg, and Gralsritter in Parsifal at Nationaltheater Mannheim. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Opera Performance from Yerevan State Conservatory in 2021, and joined the Young Artist Opera Program under the guidance of Levon Javadyan at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Ferdinand has performed as a soloist with the Tagharan ancient music ensemble, the National Academic Choir of Armenia, and the Musical Comedy Theatre. In 2023, he was a finalist in the International Vocal Competition “Opera Crown” in Tbilisi, Georgia, and won 3rd place at the International Competition “ROMANSIADA” in Moscow, Russia.

Yesterday evening the participants of the Répétiteur Course gave an intimate concert at the stunning Redentore Gardens on the island of Giudecca, featuring piano duet, aria, art song, and Lavignac’s Galop-Marche for eight hands! Scroll to hear a bit of the Cat Duet, performed by Emma Kajander, Miranda Robertson, and Chris Knopp.

Please join us in welcoming Alexander Dakin, our last participant in the 2026 Solti-Peretti Répétiteur Course this year. Alexander is currently studying at Guildhall, and previously worked for Opera North as their Learning and Engagement Accompanist. As a composer, he has had pieces performed by the Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Oxford Philharmonic.

We look forward to welcoming Alistair Burton in Venice this April, one of the six participants on our Solti-Peretti Répétiteur Course this year. Alistair was a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio for 2024/25, and will work as a repetiteur on Das Rheingold for Grange Park Opera this year.
