🇮🇹 Buona Festa della Repubblica!
Today, June 2nd, Italy celebrates its National Day, a public holiday marking the moment in 1946 when Italians voted to become a republic, laying the foundations of the modern democratic state we know today.
And what better place to reflect on the spirit of a republic than Venice? Long before 1946, this city was already home to one of history's most enduring republics, the Serenissima, the Most Serene Republic of Venice, which lasted over a thousand years 🦁

✨ Yesterday we celebrated the Globalization Program's Second Semester Closing Ceremony!
❤️ Thank you to all the students and professors who made this semester unforgettable. The ceremony brought everyone together one last time, marking the end of a full year of learning, discovery, and shared experiences on the island of San Servolo.
🌍 This semester once again brought together talented, motivated students from VIU's member universities, nearly 100 students from 20 nationalities across three continents, for a truly multicultural, international, and interdisciplinary journey.
☀️ As summer begins, we wish you a safe trip home and a well-deserved break. San Servolo will always be waiting for you: Venice International University is your second home, wherever you go next.

🎓 This week, we are welcoming the Graduate Seminar on “Belief Change and Information Exchange: Current Trends in Epistemic Logic” at VIU!
🧠 Through lectures, workshops, group discussions, and case studies, the participants enhanced their logical reasoning skills in exploring specific philosophical-logical questions, while also improving their communication abilities to share and exchange ideas on a global platform. The faculty helped students understand the formation and evolution of various theoretical considerations and methodological approaches, encouraging them to develop their own theoretical strategies on belief-related topics, grounded in a deep understanding of the complexities of epistemic logic. Students recognised the extensive application of logical models in both theoretical and applied fields. This enabled them to critically assess the rationality of belief change and information flow in society, with practical relevance to pressing global issues.
🤝🏻 The seminar was led by Tsinghua University, the Università degli Studi di Padova and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
Thank you all for your participation! ✨
