We were thrilled to host Thomas Antonelli and Sara Manfio today, to share their insights with our students. It was an incredible opportunity for the cohort to dive deep into diverse creative processes, contemporary concepts, and inspiring bodies of work.

These presentations form a vital part of our intensive research phase, laying the groundwork and sparking the dialogue that will shape our upcoming Final Exhibition. Our curatorial students are currently transforming these firsthand insights into a cohesive, cutting-edge show.

The countdown to the opening has officially begun.
Save the date: June 26th

We were thrilled to welcome .helou at VCC

Yasmine is an Italian-Lebanese curator and cultural projects manager whose practice explores cross-cultural dialogue, site-specificity, and collaborative curatorial models across international contexts.

Together, we had the pleasure of exploring the stunning exhibition ‘Possible Landscapes’ by Charlotte Colbert, currently on view across two breathtaking locations in Venice:
📍 Palazzo Corner della Ca’ Granda (located right opposite the Guggenheim on the Grand Canal, open until September 30th).

📍 The historic gardens of the Aman Venice.

Encountering these works was truly magical. We were captivated by:
* ‘Strings of Serendipity’
* ‘Where Angels Live’
* ‘Supernatural Tendencies’
* ‘There is Light Somewhere’

All of these magnificent pieces are cast in polished stainless steel, beautifully reflecting the Venetian light and surroundings.

Thank you, Yasmine, for an inspiring day of art and dialogue!

Day 1 // June Session Kickoff

The June session of the VCC has officially begun.

We kicked off this morning by welcoming our new group of students, diving straight into the course program, and setting the stage for an intense, inspiring month ahead in Venice.

Today, we had the immense pleasure of welcoming our first guest artist: Aurora Basso.

Aurora shared her work and artistic vision with the students, marking the beginning of a very exciting journey. She is one of the potential artists our students will be collaborating with to conceptualise, design, and curate their final group exhibition on June 26th.

About Aurora: Rooted in her Venetian heritage, Aurora’s practice bridges local tradition with contemporary experimentation. Swipe left to read her full bio on the next slide.

We look forward to seeing how our students channel today’s inspiration into reality over the next few weeks. The countdown to June 26th starts now.

Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates as the curatorial process unfolds.

WHAT ARE OUR ALUMNI DOING NOW? —— Take a look at some of the projects developed by our former course participants:

▪️ by Ayelén Ruiz: a nonprofit research and curatorial platform dedicated to the study and circulation of contemporary Latin American art, based in Berlin

▪️Coletivo Triciclo by Tomás Saraiva: a multidisciplinary artistic collective based in Coimbra.

▪️ by Camila Suarez Monteoliva: a Rome-based collective supporting emerging artists through independent exhibition opportunities and community-driven initiatives.

We are proud to see how curatorial practice can foster and materialize diverse emerging projects.
