Join us at Ca' Foscari to hear from Katarzyna Žák-Caplot and Anna Duńczyk-Szulc (Museum of Warsaw) on the PILLOT project.
🗓️ Date: Monday, November 17, 2025 ⏰ Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM 📍 Location: Aula Sarpellon, Ca' Bembo, Venezia
The project explores how diverse forms of tangible and intangible cultural heritage—including art,
architecture, museum collections, folk traditions, and everyday
cultural practices—can become effective contexts for foreign
language learning and intercultural education.
We will discuss how heritage-based environments create authentic,
emotionally engaging, and community-rooted learning experiences,
enhancing linguistic acquisition, motivation, and social inclusion.
Particular attention will be given to the added pedagogical value
of integrating culture and language, as well as to the potential
challenges, such as accessibility, sustainability, and the risk of
cultural simplification. The presentation will also showcase the
main outputs of the PILLOT project: a Good Practice Guide for
language and cultural educators, a multilingual textbook for
learning seven foreign languages through cultural heritage, and an
inclusive educational game designed to facilitate participation in
the cultural and social life of new communities.
