There’s also a lot of unexplained magic that happens in Mixed Adults Immersive… a combination of yumminess and love that only those who’ve taken the course can understand.

Please feel free to dm me for details.

Taking some time these days to touch base with all the different variations of myself… there are so many and they are all well-loved by, well, me. 🥹

It’s that time of year… pensive, cozy, hibernation-mode activated.

I know in these turbulent times is can seem like this is not imperative work but I cannot emphasize enough that getting to know and love yourself more, in any capacity, is good for everyone... it is not a selfish endeavor… it shapes how you show up in relationship with yourself and others… in your circles and your communities… something that is always needed but especially these days.

Hello Lovelies,

I haven’t done one of these in a while…

I did a little pondering on this and wanted to share a snippet with you.

“Being a mixed Black woman a lot of what my kids move through isn’t unfamiliar to me, but it isn’t the same. My son is read as unambiguously mixed Black but also ambiguously mixed (if that makes sense!) so I recognize some of his experience as a mixed Black person. What I have to listen for is how that lands on a Black autistic teen boy in Italy now, not me back then. My daughter is white-assumed and that comes with some protection and ease, and also a kind of erasure of her mixedness (and Blackness). Parts of her mixedness and her autism go unseen, or get delayed. I have to listen for what it’s like to be misread in that direction and the confusion and frustration that may come with that. In short shared identity doesn’t mean shared experience. And I think one of my main jobs as their parent is less about explaining and more about staying curious especially where I think I already understand.”

I’d love to know your insights if you feel like sharing… it’s really helpful to other parents when we share with each other and also creates community between us.

P.s. Rosa was calling me a cutie when I took this little clip and that’s why I have such a giddy smile - her compliments are like sunshine on a wintery day.

Love and resistance is where’s it at. ✊🏽

I don’t know if you’ve realized this but I love listing, I’m a lister and have been since I was little. I have a list collection going back decades which explains why I’m always listing here too.

So here’s a little ponder list for you. This isn’t about a big journal entry, it’s more of a let your mind ponder it for a bit and then release it and see what happens.

I’m here to talk about it if you want or need… just get in touch. 😘🌺

1. Where do I hold tension when my mixedness is questioned, misread, or made visible?
What does my body do before my mind catches up?

2. How has my body learned to adjust (posture, tone, expression, presence) in different racial or cultural spaces?
What happens when I interrupt that adjustment, even briefly?

3. When I feel fully myself, what sensations tell me I’m grounded and aligned?
How often do I let those sensations guide my choices?

4. What would it mean to trust my body as a keeper of mixed knowledge (memory, intuition, lineage) rather than something to manage or explain?
What becomes possible from that place?

5. What would it mean to relate to my mixedness not as something to justify or manage, but as something to inhabit fully? What shifts when I let it be a source of orientation rather than explanation?

I hope these bring you to knowing a little more of your mixed self.

As always I’m sending you love and make-it-manageable vibes only now it’s less make-it-manageable vibes and more please-make-it-stop vibes.

Love and resistance is where it’s at. ♥️✊🏽

P.s. this photo was taken during a photo shoot with a close friend - we did each others make up and took photos and it was one of the first times where we both felt really beautiful…. Circa 1987

And this song didn’t come out for three more years but it made me feel beautiful too. 🥹

“I’m so glad I did the Mixed Adults Immersive, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has any self-doubt or questions about their mixedness.

Before the course, I was constantly searching for validation and hanging my self-worth on other people’s perceptions of me. I’ve definitely shifted that now and have a much greater confidence in who I am.

Sarah is fun, sweet, down to earth and open minded and you could really feel how much she wanted to help us all grow.

It’s given me so much moving forward, including a strong tool kit to tackle any issues that may come my way in the future.

Connecting with other mixed people in the group also made it very special, to share experiences with people who can relate is powerful and healing.

The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish, and I didn’t want it to end! Thank you for everything Sarah, you’re helping so many people!” -B.D.

This is a ten-week container for grounding into your mixedness with more clarity, calmness, and self-trust, while deepening your sense of belonging. The work is shaped by over five years of cohorts and over a thousand hours devoted to understanding, affirming and healing the experiences of mixed women and femmes.

Next Mixed Adults Immersive starts February 23rd… dm if you’re curious.
