Dr. Ioannides is the Director of the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage and the Director of the Digital Heritage Research Lab at the Cyprus University of Technology. He is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in the field of digital cultural heritage and 3D digitization of heritage assets.

Dr. Ioannides holds an MSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, specializing in 3D volumetric reconstruction from digitized data. He is also the founder of the first Research Center on Digital Cultural Heritage in Cyprus.

He is the main author of the EU Study VIGIE2020/654 on Quality in 3D Digitisation of Tangible Cultural Heritage and a key contributor to the innovative “Memory Twin” methodology, which is shaping the future of digital heritage documentation, interpretation, and conservation.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Ioannides to CAH 2026, where he will share his expertise and insights with the international community of researchers, professionals, and practitioners in architectural heritage conservation.
