✨ ESTEC - FINAL DESIGN REVIEW WORKSHOP ✨

Last week, 8 members of our team had the opportunity to present our mission ELECTRA at ESTEC, undergoing a full-system review with ESA engineers.

As part of the ESA Fly Your Satellite! programme, we travelled to Noordwijk to walk through every aspect of our spacecraft design. Each subsystem was carefully examined, with valuable feedback from some of Europe’s leading experts in space engineering.

This milestone represents a key moment in our journey. We’re heading back to Turin with a clearer roadmap, stronger technical insight, and even more determination to bring our mission to life.

A big thank you to the ESA Fly Your Satellite! team for the insightful discussions and the high level of the review. On to the next step 🚀

One week at ESA? Mission accomplished! 🇳🇱🚀

We just spent an incredible week at ESTEC using the Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) to work on the ELECTRA mission. It has been an invaluable experience: having the chance to collaborate with world-class experts allowed us to refine our design and tackle complex challenges in real-time. 🛰️✨

A huge thank you goes to , the CDF team, and ESA Academy for sponsoring this event and providing us with such a unique learning platform.

This success was a true team effort! While part of us was in the Netherlands, the rest of the crew was working hard from our home base at Politecnico di Torino, staying perfectly synced in our own CDF environment. Distance is no match for a shared vision.

What’s next? No time to slow down. We are heading back home with fresh insights and high energy, ready to work harder than ever for the Final Review of the Fly Your Satellite! Design Booster 2 program. ⚡️

To the stars! 🌌

We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected to participate in the second cycle of the Fly Your Satellite! Design Booster programme, hosted by ESA Academy. 🎉
After an initial selection and an intense week of lectures and invaluable advice from ESA experts in the Netherlands (from November 11 to 15, with over 100 students representing 15 teams), we had the opportunity to present our project during the Selection Workshop held online on December 10 and 11. During this workshop, we presented our mission to a panel of ESA experts, answering their questions and providing deeper insights into our work.
Now, we are honored to share that we are among the finalists selected to continue in this incredible journey! 🛰 With the support of , we will work on advancing our mission, ELECTRA, over the next year and a half!
A heartfelt thanks to ESA for this unique opportunity and best of luck to all the amazing teams we met during this wonderful experience. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible! 💡🌌

🌍🚀 What an incredible week at the 75th International Astronautical Congress!

Our team had the honor of attending this prestigious event, and we’re excited to share a recap of the amazing milestones we reached:

✨ Two team members took part in the AIDAA challenge for student teams, presenting an innovative mission concept focused on sustainability and eco-friendly satellite construction.

🛰 On Friday, one of our members presented their paper "Integration and Testing Campaign of an Educational Satellite Ground Station," showcasing our work in satellite operations and the development of our new C3 Ground Station, which will soon be mounted on the roof of Politecnico di Torino.

🌊 Later that day, another team member presented "Design of a Custom Optical Payload to Monitor Ocean Colour by an Educational 3U CubeSat," highlighting our efforts in building a customized multispectral camera to monitor climate change and its impacts from space.

🔵 We had the privilege of representing our projects at both the Polito and AIDAA booths. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with space enthusiasts, professionals, and supporters from all over the world.

🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us! We’re incredibly grateful for this experience, and we can’t wait for the IAC 2025 in Sydney! See you there! 🚀✨
