The in Macro Finance: AI for Macroeconomic Analysis brought together students, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to explore how and are transforming macroeconomics, central banking, and financial analysis.

During the last 3 days participants engaged with cutting-edge methods and discovered their applications to policy analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment. The topics covered are highly relevant not only for academic research but also for the work of central banks, international organizations, and financial institutions.

A sincere thank you to our lecturers, Gianluca Bontempi and Michele Lenza, as well as to the organizers and all participants for making this school such a stimulating and enriching experience.

📌 Why do large neural networks still overfit?

Understanding this question is key to explaining how modern machine learning models learn and where they reach their limits.

📅 On June 18, the Seminar “Separation of timescales controls feature learning and overfitting in large neural networks” will help us answer this question with Pierfrancesco Urbani, CNRS Researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (CEA Saclay), France, and a Part-time Professor at École Polytechnique.

📍 Turin | OGR Torino – Sala Duomo
📅 June 18, 2026 | 16:00–18:00 CEST

The seminar, organized by the Institute for Advanced Study of and Fondazione , in collaboration with , will explore how feature learning and overfitting can emerge at different stages of training, offering new insights into model complexity and generalization.

Thank you to all the speakers and participants who joined us last week for the -CCA Days 2026 - Frontiers of Methods in Social and Political Science.

Over three days, senior scholars and PhD students came together for lively, interdisciplinary, and pluralistic discussions on conceptual and methodological challenges, research choices, and empirical approaches across the social and political sciences.

A special thanks to the PhD students who presented their work and helped make the workshop a stimulating space for exchange, feedback, and dialogue across different perspectives and methods.

It was a pleasure to host such an engaged and collaborative community at Collegio Carlo Alberto. We look forward to the next edition!
