The Lord of Truth - A Negative Confession

🔹The Lord of Truth is a major god: Osiris, who is ‘Lord of the Hall of the Two Truths’, may also extend to the jackal god Anubis, who performed his divine duty as ‘Keeper of the Balance! In the Great Hall of Judgment, Osiris delivers the final verdict after Maat oversees the weighing of the deceased’s heart on the Scales of Judgment.

🔹A man prays before the statues of Osiris and the four sons of Horus, but is he innocent? The statues begin to awaken as judgment upon the man looms heavy in the air.

🔹The gods deliberate the truth of the ‘denial of sin’ and pronounce the inevitable verdict. Beneath their feet lie customary food offerings. Behind Osiris 𓊨𓁹 or 𓁹𓊩 “wsir”stands Isis, his protective wife and sister, often joined by Nephthys to temper his harsh judgment with mercy.

🔹A haiku is a traditional form of short, unrhymed Japanese poetry that consists of just three lines. It is celebrated for its ability to capture fleeting moments in nature or human experience through vivid, simple imagery. The poetic form is deeply rooted in brevity and conciseness. Traditionally in English, a haiku follows a specific, strict syllable count of 5-7-5. Line 1: 5 syllables, Line 2: 7 syllables, Line 3: 5 syllables.

🔹My version of the Ancient Egyptian haiku combines the Japanese haiku style with Ancient Egyptian Hieratic script and, most importantly, capturing fleeting moments in ancient Egyptian life and mythology. My ultimate goal is to create an ancient Egyptian haiku book containing 42 poems (reflecting the ‘42 Negative Confessions’ of my previous book.

🔸 When you read the poem, take your time and reflect on the moment as if you were there standing before the pyramids. Let the words come alive in your mind and heart.

The Translation of the Golden Mask of Tutankhamun

🔹The golden funerary mask belonged to Tutankhamun, who reigned over the New Kingdom of Egypt from 1332 BC to 1323 BC, during the Eighteenth Dynasty. After being buried with Tutankhamun’s mummy for over 3,000 years, it was found in 1922 following the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb three years earlier by the British archaeologist Howard Carter at the Valley of the Kings. It is on public display at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The hieroglyphs, which were chased on the back, provide a protective spell from chapter 151 of the book of the dead.

🔸“Lord of sight, bound by Ptah-Sokar, who was raised by Anubis. There has been given to him by Thoth, who has raised him a beautiful of face, which is with the gods. May your right/western eye be in the night bark. May your left/western eye be in the day barque. May your eye eyebrows be with the Ennead. May your brow be with Anubis. The Swallower of Shade - A Negative Confession

🔹From the portal of the netherworld rises the Swallower of Shade, a shadow 𓆄𓋺𓅱𓏏 “šw.t” ascending the steps that echo the tombs of kings and nobles. The god extends his arm, and with a tentacle-like hand poised above the wounded transgressor, he seizes and consumes the shadow—annihilating the essence of the offender.

🔹The scene reveals that the criminal has committed murder, evidenced by the bleeding victim lying at the foot of the doorway; yet the struggle also inflicted a mortal wound upon the perpetrator. Above the door is a rolled-up reed mat ready to shield the room from the biting dust and sand of the harsh desert climate. On the roof of the house are two cats 𓏇𓇋𓅱𓃠 “miw”, hissing at the otherworldly being.

My Egyptian-Revival Sekhmet Brooch Cartier Replica

🔹This sterling silver and cubic zirconia encrusted brooch is designed as an Egyptian fan (or flabellum), centering a green faience-like bust of the goddess Sekhmet, depicted with a solar disc and a uraeus (cobra) upon her head, set against a naturally hand-carved lapis lazuli sky twinkling with cubic zirconia stars (displaying the constellations Orion/Osiris and the Big Dipper/The Indestructibles) bordered by repeating cubic zirconia set stylized lotus motif, all surmounting a stylized encrusted lotus blossom with black enamel accent.

The Triform God of Ancient Egypt ~ Khepri-Ra-Atum

The sun god Ra 𓂋𓂝𓁛 “rˁ” and his three major aspects - the morning 𓃀𓅡𓂓𓇳𓏤𓏤 “bk3”, afternoon 𓊣𓇌𓇳 “ˁḥˁy” and night 𓎼𓂋𓎛𓇰 “grḥ”.

Morning - Rising - Khepri 𓆣𓂋𓇌 “ḫpry” (scarab beetle)
Noon - Ra 𓂋𓂝𓁜 “rˁ” (falcon-headed god/ Sundisk)
Night - Setting - Atum 𓏏𓍃𓀭 “tm” (ram-headed god)

All three aspects of Ra are encompassed in a single image, by which morning and night are within the noon sun. Though all three aspects are worshiped seperately, they are ultimately regarded equally as one single god 𓊹 “nṯr”

🔹The sarcophagus of Ahmose, high priest of Thoth is made of polished limestone that is entirely carved, both on the lid and bottom, with inscriptions and figures. The anthropoid massive coffin has a finely modeled head wearing headdress.

🔹On the forehead is a kneeling image of Nephthys (sister of Isis and Osiris) and her accompanying inscription cover parts of the wig of the anthropoid sarcophagus. Located on the forehead, the text describes the goddess spreading her wings over the deceased. It is more typical for this kind of representation to appear on the breast of anthropoid coffins. In both scenarios, the sense stays the same: the goddess protects the deceased in his form as an Osiris under her wings.

🔸Fun Fact: Nephthys is a protective goddess who symbolizes the death experience, just as Isis represented the birth experience. Nephthys was known in some ancient Egyptian temple theologies and cosmologies as the “Helpful Goddess” or the “Excellent Goddess”.
