Introducing our third faculty member: Pete Anthony.

One of Hollywood’s most sought-after orchestrators and conductors, Pete brings over three decades of experience at the highest level of film scoring.

With more than 600 feature films to his name, Pete has collaborated with some of the industry’s leading composers, including James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman, Ludwig Göransson, John Powell, and many more—contributing to iconic scores like Spider-Man, The Sixth Sense, Tenet, and The Devil Wears Prada.

Known for his exceptional ear, musical intuition, and dynamic presence on the podium, Pete has become a key figure in shaping the sound of modern Hollywood cinema. His approach blends deep respect for musicians with a collaborative spirit that elevates every project.

Beyond the recording stage, he is also a composer, with works performed by ensembles such as the Cincinnati Pops and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Introducing our second faculty member: Lawrence Shragge.

Award-winning composer, Lawrence brings a lifetime of storytelling through music to the Chigiana Film Scoring Program.

With over 200 scores for feature films, television series, and documentaries, his work spans an extraordinary range of styles—from intimate and ambient textures to large-scale orchestral writing.

Born and raised in Montreal, Lawrence studied composition at Berklee College of Music and continued his training at the Eastman School of Music, shaping a career defined by versatility and deep musical curiosity.

A true musical explorer, he has built an international career scoring projects across North America, Europe, and Asia, always driven by a fascination with the emotional power of music in film.

At Chigiana, Lawrence works closely with participants to explore how music can elevate storytelling—bringing decades of experience and insight into every session.

Award-winning composer, Patrick brings Hollywood scoring straight to Siena.

Best known for his work on Netflix’s The Kissing Booth trilogy, Patrick has built a diverse career across film, TV, documentaries, and immersive media, always driven by a deep focus on storytelling and emotional impact.

As Director of the Screen Scoring Program at the USC Thornton School of Music, he has mentored the next generation of film composers for over a decade, helping students transform cinematic ideas into powerful musical narratives.

At the Chigiana Film Scoring Program, Patrick works closely with participants through one-on-one lessons, score analysis, and hands-on feedback—bringing real industry insight into every note.
