From October I will be teaching English again!
Only a few hours per week as I have my little one at home (with granny or daddy while I work) and I'll be studying towards my Master degree, but I miss teaching!
If you are interested please message me!

And now I want to read you:

--> can you translate "nuovo inizio" in English? You can't use the word "new"!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

And now a quote I really like:

"Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” (Carl Bard)

This will be my philosophy!

Good morning with a laugh!

Today I've officially started my online/Skype based lessons with a lovely student. I was a little nervous but things have worked really well, no technical issues and we could communicate clearly. If you want to learn/improve your English but have little time or can't find the right teacher we can meet up (online or face to face if you live nearby) for a first FREE chat (in English, of course).

Yesterday, at the end of my lesson, one of my little students asked with a slight disappointment: "have we already finished?"
It's such a feeling of satisfaction when students and especially children would like to keep going because they are enjoying themselves

Look outside, it rains!

Look outside, it's raining!

Which one is correct?

A common mistake students do, is that of using the simple present for things happening right now. In Italian, for example, it wouldn't be a mistake if we say: "Guarda, piove!". Well, in English, if something is happening right now, we must use the present continuous or progressive. So, the first sentence is incorrect.

Look it's raining outside! ✅

We use the simple present for regular events or things that are always true (but may not necessarily be happening right now).

In the UK it rains quite often. ✅

Another example: I work as a teacher (it's my job, always true). Right now, I'm writing a Facebook post on my page (temporary thing, happening at present).

Questions? I hope it helps!

Tell me. What are you doing right now?

FACE TO FACE AND ONLINE ENGLISH LESSONS WITH A CELTA QUALIFIED TEACHER. Learn English in an interactive and funny way, through interesting lessons tailored to your needs.

I am a CELTA (Pass A - only 4% of people achieve such a high result!) qualified teacher and I love teaching English. I lived in the UK for 11 years where I obtained a BSc (Hons) Psychology and I enjoyed researching the cognitive advantages bilingual people have (there are many, I tell you!). I worked in several places from hotels to hospital reception desks and, during the last five years I spent there, I contributed to the efficient running of the Booking, HR and Finance offices of an important interpreting and translation Agency. Now I live in Savona and I am ready to transfer my enthusiasm and passion about the English language to you! I can come to your place or even arrange online sessions. We can also have some interactive lessons in small groups of similar levels (up to 6 people). My rates are very competitive, get in touch to book our first FREE no-obligation appointment to decide if I am the right person you are after! I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Today I have really enjoyed creating a listening lesson plan about a man's career achievements. Do you know what an achievement is? What's your greatest achievement? For me obtaining a pass A when I completed my CELTA course was a significant achievement, in fact only 4% of people achieve such a high result! I want to know about yours! Please comment below. :)

Slightly late but I would like to wish a happy new year to all my students and followers! I hope 2018 will bring many happy moments to all of you. My 2018 has started with a new part-time morning job - what I wanted - so I am not going to start any new courses this year. Those of you who are interested in private lessons can contact me directly so I'll add you to the wait list. All the best!
