The 2024 edition of International Project Week (2024)

Approximately 200 civil engineering students and teachers from 7 different European and non-European countries met to carry out laboratory activities, site visits and visits to cultural, monumental and archaeological sites in the city of Rome.

- Day 1:
- Presentations by our Civil Engineering lecturers - Porff. Andrea Benedetto, Gianmarco de Felice and Leopoldo Franco, and some important companies in the sector - Anas s.p.a and Donati s.p.a., as well as Dario Daffara, official of the Ostia Antica archaeological park;
- Activities at our coastal engineering, hydraulic, roads, structures and transport laboratories
- Sports activities at the Berra Stadium

- Day 2: Visits to construction sites and cultural and monumental sites - Metro C concrete plant, underground construction of the Rome-Civita Castellana-Viterbo railway line, renovation of the Ponte dell'Industria bridge, Rome Traffic Monitoring Centre, Tiberina Island, Aqueducts Park and the reinforcement and restoration site of the Church of Santissimi Biagio e Carlo ai Catinari;

- Day 3: visit to the Ostia Antica
- Archaeological Park, where students were able to appreciate the civil engineering works of our Roman ancestors;
- Closing aperitif by the dea

- Day 4: Award ceremony

It was a great success and one of the many internationalisation activities in which our department is involved.

Many thanks go to the organisers of this important initiative - Dr. Pietro Meriggi and Prof. Michele La Rocca.

Thanks also go to our students from the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering who participated, and to the lecturers who took part in the presentations, laboratory activities and visits to construction sites and monumental and archaeological sites.

Our thanks also go to the coordinator of the Civil Engineering Teaching Committee - Prof. Elena Volpi and our didactic secretary - Giancarlo Palermo.
