2. Understanding: Through the academic setting that John Cabot University provides, and the open acceptance of all cultures reflected by our student body, The Alliance will serve as a forum which provokes thought through education and awareness of issues related to LGBT people. The Alliance believes that real understanding of these issues and challenges facing LGBT people in today’s society come from insightful discussion and encourages free dialogue amongst all people.

3. Supporting: The Alliance recognizes the need for a safe place to seek opinions of other students and find people willing to listen to one another. The Alliance will strive to provide for those who feel they are in need of support by maintaining an open door policy for talk and providing outside resources. Confidentiality is key, and will be respected, with the exceptions of extreme circumstances.
