Can't wait to work my way through the latest of the Rome Sustainable Food Project's newest cookbook: Vedure. We'll be planning a presentation for the Friends of the Academy in Italy at the American Academy in Rome soon, so stay tuned.

Kim Bowes will be the next Director of the American Academy in Rome. Most of you already know Kim, who is currently the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in Charge of the School of Classical Studies at the Academy. Very happy to hear she will be staying on!

The OG Locavore, who opened her landmark restaurant Chez Panisse over 40 years ago, has received nearly every accolade possible—most recently the Wall Street Journal's Humanitarian Innovator Award earlier this week.
