discovered some of the most insanely innovative and creative ways to cook and eat seafood, and oh so stunningly presented wowwwww 😲 my descriptions aren’t doing the menu justice.
🍸 bull kelp martini, served ice cold, of course. not pictured.
🐚abalone dashi. gorgeous presentation. unbelievable flavour.
🍘 abalone on fermented rice blini.
🦪 freshly shucked oysters *not* shucked under running water. the difference this makes to actually tasting the briny sweetness is like nothing else. not pictured.
🐟🦴 noodles made of fish bones. srsly, fish bones ground to a paste and made into noodles 🤯 w/ charcoal pipis in lobster broth
🎣 charcoal whiting in curry butter
🧈sea urchin butter. 🤤
🍋 yuzushu parfait w/ mango sorbet and mint oil
🍯 kumquat madeleines baked in oyster shells. as instructed by the wait staff, to be eaten with as much honey cream as possible. 🫡 happy to comply.

me in holiday mode at the end of last year. sure, I want to be in holiday mode again/all the time (!) and yes, I’m already planning some trips to look forward to this year 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣.
HOWEVER. I’m thinking, how do you make “life” (and I mean, the everyday life) something to look forward to just as much as a holiday.
pause.
stop.
savour.
revel in the small moments that make life….well life 🤷🏻♀️ whatever that means to you, to appreciate the everyday little moments, seemingly ordinary “bits” that make up life.
for me… it’s quietude. nature trail walks. library books. ocean swims. feet in the sand. cups of tea. mouthfuls of cake. exercise. movement. music. theatre. the humans I interact and interweave with. wonder. awe. anticipation. meditation. how I might be kinder, softer, more loving and forgiving….
gratitude.
the practice I return to again. and again.
