The Italian Chamber of Deputies has approved the Zan Law. Now waiting for the Senate to pass it.
The law punishes discrimination, misogyny, hate crimes and hate speech based on s*x, gender, s*xual orientation and disabilities and carries harsher penalties of up to four years in prison.
Currently, Italy punishes hate crimes for racial, ethnic and religious reasons, as well as neo-nazi and neo-fascist actions and slogans.

Italian education
Don Lorenzo Milani (1923 – 1967) the extraordinary Italian educator who denounced the inequalities of a class-based educational system.
His "I care" motto represented his goal to educate to develop civil and social consciousness. Among his writings "Perché tacere?" (Why Keep Silent?), “Lettera a una professoressa” (Letter to a Teacher) and "L'obbedienza non è più una virtù" (Obedience Is No Longer a Virtue), astonishingly modern and representative of our present times.
