The Italian Chamber of Deputies has approved the Zan Law. Now waiting for the Senate to pass it.
The law punishes discrimination, misogyny, hate crimes and hate speech based on s*x, gender, s*xual orientation and disabilities and carries harsher penalties of up to four years in prison.
Currently, Italy punishes hate crimes for racial, ethnic and religious reasons, as well as neo-nazi and neo-fascist actions and slogans.

Italy celebrates the birth centenary of Gianni Rodari, Omegna 1920 - Rome 1980.Teacher, writer and journalist, Rodari’s revolutionary ideas on children’s thinking and the power of learning are a milestone in Italian and international educational debates. Among his many books: The Grammar of Fantasy, The Book of Errors, Telephone Tales, The Cake in the Sky.

The Montessori Method is an inclusive approach to learning which emphasizes active learning, independence, cooperation, and learning in harmony with each individual’s unique pace of development.
Her work was widely published internationally and spread rapidly. In 1913 the first International Training Course was held in Rome.

Italian education
Don Lorenzo Milani (1923 – 1967) the extraordinary Italian educator who denounced the inequalities of a class-based educational system.
His "I care" motto represented his goal to educate to develop civil and social consciousness. Among his writings "Perché tacere?" (Why Keep Silent?), “Lettera a una professoressa” (Letter to a Teacher) and "L'obbedienza non è più una virtù" (Obedience Is No Longer a Virtue), astonishingly modern and representative of our present times.
