ART FOREST
2A+P/A with Andrea Branzi

On the occasion of “Continuous Present. Andrea Branzi by Toyo Ito” at the Triennale di Milano, we commissioned to produce a new model of the project Art Forest, the contemporary art museum in Maribor designed with Andrea Branzi in 2012.

The model, developed by Marco Galofaro, reveals the relationship between above-ground and underground spaces, highlighting the idea of a “territorial architecture” envisioned by Branzi.

Special thanks to the entire team for their dedication and precision 🫶

On view at the Triennale di Milano until October 2026.

YOUTH CENTER
Bassano del Grappa
Competition Entry

The new Youth Center is not just a collection of buildings, but an ecosystem of relationships, an urban laboratory where creativity meets responsibility, where spirituality coexists with enjoyment, and where culture intertwines with sport.

Visual and spatial continuity, environmental sustainability, and a strong community vocation are the three interpretive keys of a project that aims to give Bassano del Grappa a living, open, and generative place once again. In this sense, the Youth Center becomes a model of a civic campus, capable of attracting creative energies and reinterpreting, in a contemporary way, the tradition of hospitality, education, and collective participation.

ROOMS AND ALLEYS
Exhibit design for “Maknana: Archaeology of New Media Arts in the Arab World”
📍 Diriyah Art Futures, Riyadh

The exhibition design creates an immersive and layered experience, weaving together artworks, archives, and scenography to explore the evolving landscape of new media art in the Arab world.

A system of sculptural objects transforms the space into a rhythm of rooms and alleys, between domestic intimacy and urban openness.
Vertical planes, platforms, steps, and thresholds recall both the familiar scale of home and the collective language of the city.

The result is an adaptable, flexible installation, a responsive environment that frames the artworks while inviting new spatial narratives to emerge, thanks to the use of space, light and sound.

Competition entry - Finalist Project
Masterplan for a new mixed area in Bruneck

The idea at the heart of this project is to explore and test a model for a compact, densely inhabited city—one that can effectively balance the demand for a high number of residential units with the creation of a continuous, open, and natural public ground. Rather than fragmenting space, the proposal seeks to establish a seamless and accessible landscape that fosters social interaction and ecological richness. The aim is to design a shared environment that encourages forms of collective living, structured as an “urban island” that reinterprets and respects the human scale and proportions of the city of Brunico.

Nyota Ya Asubhui Resource Centre
Kilifi, Kenya

Photos from 2A+P/A's post 05/08/2024

WORK IN PROGRESS
The construction site of the Nyota Asubuhi Resource Centre is underway: it’s a reception center for street children located near Kilifi, a town 56 km north from Mombasa in Kenya. The first ongoing phase is the construction of the dormitory, funded by Maria Grazia Cutuli Foundation for the Koinonia No profit Association.

Designed by 2A+P/A, BAN, Mario Cutuli, LGSMA and ma0 (the same team which designed the School in Herat) the centre is configured as a composition of three recognisable elements, identifiable by their functions and characteristics, by size, colour and materials: the dormitory on two floors, covered by a double Nubian vault is a plastered volume painted yellow, while the portico is made of a mixed structure covered in bricks; the hall for collective celebrations is a space enclosed by a circular wall made of perforated concrete bricks produced locally and covered by a light tensile structure.

Project by:
