Luigi Pirandello (28 June 1867 – 10 December 1936)
Sicilian writer, playwright, and Nobel Prize in Literature laureate (1934), Pirandello is considered one of the most influential voices of modern European literature and theatre.

Best known for works such as Six Characters in Search of an Author, Henry IV, and the novel One, No One and One Hundred Thousand, Pirandello explored themes that remain deeply relevant today: identity, illusion, truth, and the many roles we play in society.

His works challenged traditional storytelling and revolutionised modern theatre, questioning the boundaries between fiction and reality long before these became central themes in contemporary culture.

🎭 Pirandello reminds us that identity is never singular or fixed, and that language has the power to both reveal and transform our understanding of the world.

Studying in Italy also means learning not only to acquire knowledge, but to question, interpret, and look beyond appearances.

"🍩 Non tutte le ciambelle riescono col buco” literally: “Not all doughnuts come out with a hole.” It’s the Italian way of saying that not everything goes as planned; not every exam, project, or idea turns out perfectly. 😅

Fun fact: the ciambella has deep Italian roots, dating back to ancient rural and religious traditions, and even to Roman times!
You’ll find it in many regional versions, some with a hole, others (like in Romagna or Ferrara) deliciously whole.
So even if your ciambella (or your plan) doesn’t come out exactly as expected, it’s still worth enjoying. Life, like baking, isn’t always perfect… but it’s always sweet.

No single language. No single story.
And yet, something that connects millions of people every day.

Europe was not built overnight, but it started with the bold idea called the Schuman Declaration, imagining a future where cooperation would replace conflict.

🎓 In Higher Education Institutions, Europe becomes real, through partnerships, degrees built across countries, and knowledge shaped collectively.

Happy Europe Day to those who build knowledge together, advance research across nations, and work every day to strengthen cooperation and understanding.💙

🌄 Val Camonica is one of the largest collections of prehistoric rock carvings in the world. First site in Italy to be recognised as UNESCO World Heritage(1979), the valley preserves more than 140,000 petroglyphs, some dating back over 8,000 years.

These engravings offer a remarkable glimpse into the lives and beliefs of early human communities. Many depict hunting scenes, ritual symbols, daily activities, and mysterious figures, revealing a surprisingly vivid imagination and a rich symbolic world.
The carvings were created by hammering stone tools against the sandstone surfaces, a technique that allowed them to endure thousands of years of natural erosion.

✨ The rock carvings of Val Camonica remind us that creativity, storytelling, and the urge to leave a mark have been part of human life since prehistoric times.
