Quando un progetto nato tra le mura dello IED viene scelto da un'azienda ed entra in produzione: è il caso di Simbiosi, la coppia di vasi monoforo in midollino intrecciato a mano, progettati per Bottega Intreccio da Alessia Clemente, diplomata in Product Design .

Il progetto di Alessia Clemente vuole valorizzare l’intima relazione fra l’artigiano e il prodotto, in cui prende vita un dialogo tra materia e gesto.
Il filo di seta che lega i due elementi rimarca il concept, richiamando metaforicamente il cordone ombelicale che unisce la madre alla sua creatura, l’artigiano alla sua creazione.

Per l'esame di Ergonomic Design, gli studenti al primo anno del corso in Interior Design hanno realizzato un "murales calpestabile" e una serie di coloratissimi complementi d'arredo per esterni. Dopo i primi esami teorici, non vedevano l'ora di "sporcarsi le mani" con un'esperienza decisamente più pratica!
Un workshop tenuto grazie alla preziosa collaborazione di Studio orizzontale.

Cosa significa rispondere alle esigenze di un cliente, quando studi Event, PR e Communication Management? Lo hanno sperimentato sul campo gli studenti di Design Della Comunicazione, in visita negli spazi del W Rome Hotel per un sopralluogo utile alla progettazione di un evento/festival ospitato dalla struttura ricettiva.

Oggi, 8 marzo, in occasione della Giornata Internazionale delle Donne, .it lancia la campagna di sensibilizzazione "Donne Per La Pace", nata per portare alla luce il ruolo strategico delle donne, ancora sottorappresentate se non invisibili, nelle trattative di pace mondiali.

Nel progetto , che proseguirà per tutto l’anno, Avvenire, grazie a una partnership con , si avvale della collaborazione di 10 studentesse di Illustrazione e Animazione e due Alumnae dello stesso corso per la realizzazione degli artwork legati all’iniziativa.

Questo primo artwork, realizzato dall'Alumna Gaia Magnini, è dedicato a SHRIN EBADI, prima donna giudice dell'Iran e prima donna vincitrice del Premio per la Pace del mondo islamico, valso per il suo attivismo, volto alla ricerca di soluzioni pacifiche ai problemi sociali dell'Iran e alla promozione del rinnovamento dell'identità culturale islamica.

"Dress Your Story" è il progetto nato dall'incontro tra Amazon.it e il corso di Fashion Design , che trasforma le storie di 25 dipendenti del colosso del commercio web in altrettanti capi di maglieria da portare in passerella, progettati dai nostri studenti.
A coordinare il loro lavoro Italo Marseglia, fashion designer e Global Ambassador .

I capi sono stati realizzati grazie ai materiali forniti da Dalle Piane Cashmere, eccellenza toscana che tramanda l’arte tessile italiana da tre generazioni.

Turning empty places into spots where smells help heal and bring back memories. This project designed by IED Madrid - Istituto Europeo di Design Interior Design student Nicolás Alfonso Garcia introduces MEMENTO, an artificial intelligence system capable of creating scents to aid memory and improve well-being, contributing to health and Alzheimer's research, for example. Discover a novel approach to healing and exploration, all through the transformative power of smell.

Alacre by student Edoardo de Muro reimagines Nuoro's Eliseo Theatre in Sardinian region with sustainable designs for new experimental and communal spaces. This IED Cagliari Interior Design thesis envisions a revitalized theatre experience, blending aesthetics with functionality for both audience and performances.

Our trip to Amsterdam was all about 'A Sustainable Way of Being'. Led by Milanese designer and IED Ambassador Attila Veress, we joined workshops with students from some of the most creative Dutch schools. Together, we learned how sustainability fits perfectly with design and architecture. This trip also gave us a fresh way to look at the beautiful city of Amsterdam, showing us sides of it we hadn't seen before.

Transforming spaces, shaping futures. The Amigdala project, brought to life by the brilliant interior design students of IED Roma in partnership with Reggio Children, breathes new life into a former slaughterhouse. Situated in the vibrant heart of Testaccio, this reimagined space emerges as a sanctuary for young minds aged 14-18.

A place where exploration, learning, and growth converge to address the pressing global challenges of environmental exploitation and the climate crisis.

Il progetto Design for Physics, ideato dal corso di Product Design per far conoscere ai più giovani i rudimenti della fisica attraverso il gioco, è stato presentato, in collaborazione con Arduino, al Bett Global di Londra dello scorso 24, 25, 26 gennaio: il più grande evento al mondo dedicato al settore EdTech (tecnologie applicate all'educazione).

Last week, Louis Vuitton introduced 12 Fashion Design students to the Louis Vuitton Accessories Design Graduates Initiative.

This exciting competition centers around leather goods and accessories, providing the winners with a unique opportunity to get a contract and work at one of LouisVuitton esteemed design departments.

Exclusively available to final-year BA and MA students, the Initiative has forged partnerships with some of Europe's most prestigious fashion, design, and art schools and universities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Baron Osuna for generously sharing his time with our students. We look forward to the competition's progress with enthusiasm.

"Roma tra Cinquant’Anni" è una staffetta tra il mondo delle arti visive e quello della narrativa, un intreccio tra didattica, formazione e cultura. A partire dagli esiti di cinque workshop multidisciplinari realizzati in pochi giorni durante IED Factory 2023 da studenti e studentesse , coordinati da docenti e artisti visivi, nascono cinque racconti originali di autori e autrici di narrativa e di cinema. Il lavoro, sviluppato in collaborazione con la rivista multimediale .lucy, contiene i racconti originali di Francesca Archibugi, Fratelli D’Innocenzo, Antonella Lattanzi, Tommaso Pincio, Elena Stancanelli.
I workshop che hanno generato i racconti sono stati curati da: Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi, Francesca Archibugi, Massimo Siragusa, Alessandro Imbriaco e Christian Raimo.

Presentiamo la pubblicazione al pubblico il 30 gennaio alle 18.00, presso l’Auditorium del MACRO - Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Roma. Per partecipare e ricevere una copia gratuita, scrivici un commento in questo post.

'Design for Physics' is a project that uses smartphones to create new and affordable teaching tools for hands-on learning. It's a collaboration between the IED Roma and Sapienza University's Physics department.

These tools, developed in collaboration with , help students connect art and science and is showcased at the London event. The project shows how combining design and science can bring innovation to education, even in places with limited resources.

Alumna Claudia Sala, a student in the three-year fashion design course at IED Barcelona, has passionately crafted three collections, each marking a distinct chapter in her journey at IED.

From her award-winning '090623' which earned her the Franca Sozzani Award for Best Collection at Fashioners of the World 2023, to the nostalgic tribute to 1930s barbers in 'K2' and the celebration of African culture and women's roles in "Owesifazane' these collections showcase her creative evolution.

Involuntario is a research project by Mateo Benguria, a IED Kunsthal Bilbao Graphic Design student who sheds light on the current socio-ecological crisis from a personal perspective, creating awareness of its environmental impact. Through art, it inspires an appreciation for nature's transformations and urges action. The project promotes dialogue, encouraging sustainable practices and emotional reconnection with the natural world.

Experience Rome's future through art with Terra Nuova - an immersive project envisioned by students from Roma and IED Firenze’s Master's Program in Arts Management. ​

Step into a utopian world where a diverse, sustainable, and green city harmoniously blends with Rome's timeless monuments and lush nature.

Pure energy. These were the words Giovanni Ottonello, IED Ambassador and Art Director, used to describe Hong Kong. He embarked on this remarkable journey a few weeks ago, thanks to the "Nuovo Design Italiano" collaboration between IED, the Italian Consulate and Hong Kong Design Institute. ​

​During his visit, he shared insights on AI, sustainability, future trends, and digital art through lectures and workshops, all while capturing the vibrant essence of this dynamic city. ​

​As he explored the Hong Kong streets and diverse neighborhoods, he captured its essence, shedding light on its unique blend of architectural styles and lifestyles. Join us in reliving this extraordinary adventure through his photos. ​

This project, conceived by Graphic Design students from IED Milano - Alice Colli, Antonella Di Ponziano, Eleonora Vito, explores the vital connection between artificial intelligence and human imagination in envisioning the future of our planet.​

​Through triptychs, it confronts viewers with the stark realities of environmental crises while also offering glimpses of hopeful utopian possibilities. Each image is meticulously crafted through the use of generative artificial intelligence.

Dal 14 dicembre uno dei treni della metro A di Roma prende vita, grazie alle opere realizzate per il progetto dall'artista .corradini e dagli studenti di tre licei artistici capitolini, sotto la curatela delle studentesse del Master in Arts Management e , ideatrici dell'iniziativa.

Nella sera del 14 dicembre, dalle ore 16,30, Terra Nuova ti aspetta davanti all'ingresso della metro Cavour, quartiere Monti, per partecipare al Panel moderato dalla giornalista , con la partecipazione di: Francesco Dobrovich (ArtStop), Giulia Palma (Luleka), Brando Corradini .corradini, Matteo Modena , Chiara Mastromonaco (Groovin), Mauro Sgarbi, Filippo Gargani (Mangrovia Shop),
Manuela Ronchi (Terra Nuova).

Un'occasione per ragionare insieme ad alcune menti creative e realtà imprenditoriali che gravitano intorno alla nostra città e immaginare una ‘"Roma del Futuro": sostenibile, verde, smart.

We are proud to participate in the first Miami edition of Alcova, taking place during Miami Art Week at the Selina Gold Dust Motel (7700 Biscayne Blvd) from December 5-10.​

On this occasion, we introduce "Denoise," an adaptation of a video mapping project that was conceived within the framework of IED Milano's Master in Visual Arts for the Digital Age. The multi-sensory installation will transform Room 35 of the motel into a theatrical journey, combining volumes, surfaces, and sound over several levels of narration. ​

Stefan Sagmeister recently joined us at IED Firenze. A creative genius with collaborations at Guggenheim Museum, Rolling Stones, HBO, he presented his latest book, "Now is Better," to our students.​

Following his visit to Florence, Stefan Sagmeister has also met with students at IED Madrid - Istituto Europeo di Design, and today, he will engage with students in IED Kunsthal Bilbao , inspiring them to embrace creativity as a lens for viewing the world with an optimistic perspective.

Introducing Calli: a project by Arantxa Erazo Bustos, a student at IED Madrid - Istituto Europeo di Design, aimed at improving rural healthcare access in North, Central, and South America. In these areas, healthcare remains a challenge, often requiring journeys exceeding 8 hours. But what if there were a solution?​

Calli explores the possibility of collaborating with indigenous communities, volunteers, and architecture students from universities in Oaxaca and neighboring states, with potential support from the Mexican government. Together, they aim to conceptualize sustainable hospitals constructed from natural materials like clay and bamboo, designed to withstand earthquakes. These hospitals would provide accessible spaces, consultations, treatments, and even educational programs on natural medicine.

Discover 'Unwoven Memories,' the award-winning Best Motion Graphics and Video Thesis of 2023 by IED Barcelona.

This project delves into the memories of Colonia Güell residents, transforming them into a unique 'language' that unfolds in a memoir. ​

Thinh Truong, a Motion Graphics and Video student, handpicked 260 objects, encoding them into binary code. These intricate designs take shape in a stunning physical tapestry, connecting collective experiences. A new typeface also emerged from this code.
