These practical activities represent an important step in their medical education, allowing them to develop essential clinical skills under the guidance of healthcare professionals.

Final-year medical students recently completed an intensive three-day certification program in BLSD (Basic Life Support and Defibrillation) and ACCLS (Advanced Cardiovascular and Cerebral Life Support) at CESMA, conducted by Salvamento Academy
The curriculum was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical urgency, structured into two core components:
* Theoretical Framework: Comprehensive review of the latest international guidelines for cardiovascular and respiratory resuscitation.
* High-Fidelity Simulation: Practical sessions utilized advanced, technologically integrated mannequins. This allowed students to manage complex emergency scenarios with real-time monitoring of vital parameters, including:
* Endotracheal intubation and advanced airway management.
* Manual and automatic defibrillation.
* Intraosseous (IO) access procedures.
* Chest compressions and hemodynamic stabilization.
A fundamental pillar of the training was Crisis Resource Management (CRM), emphasizing the critical importance of team leadership and coordinated communication during cardiac arrest and acute clinical deterioration.
This program ensures that our future physicians transition into residency with the technical proficiency and decision-making skills required for emergency medicine.
