A massive well done to our High School Basketball team who played a fantastic game against St. Stephen's School on Tuesday. Although we didn't win it was a very competitive game and the sportsmanship from both sides was really impressive. 👏
We can’t wait to have St Stephens back for regular fixtures.
The RIS team was created entirely by Batu in Year 13 who is the player-coach and did an amazing job with the group. 🤩
A huge thank you to Ms Lydon and the PE Department for organising fixtures with other schools in Rome, which provide fantastic opportunities for students to practice and improve their skills. 💪🏼
We are so proud of our Middle School Year 9 Maths team who achieved second place out of 19 teams from five IB schools in Italy at a Maths competition this past weekend. Congratulations!

Good luck to our Year 13 students starting their pre mock exams today! 🍀
This experience will help students prepare and plan effective learning strategies for the months to come, in preparation for the final examinations in May. 💪🏼
We are also so proud of our Year 12 students who gifted every Year 13 student with a personalized, handmade card, wishing them all the best for their Pre-Mock exams. How very caring!
Happy Halloween! 🎃
From our PTA’s super spooky charity bake sale to the elementary school’s colourful parade, students across the school had a great time celebrating the spirit of Halloween last Friday. 🙌
After the restrictions imposed during COVID-19, it was such a treat to be able to fully celebrate together as a community.
Wishing all members in our community a safe and magical half-term break. See you back at school next week! 👋
Congratulations to our Middle and High School students who played two great games against their peers from Southlands British International School yesterday. The students represented so well and all of the players showed great sportsmanship and respect on the pitch. We can’t wait to take part in more fixtures. Well done! 👏 👏 👏
to Year 5's outdoor Maths lesson in the school woods.
At RIS outdoor education is embedded into daily learning and we make sure that our students take full advantage of the natural woodland surrounding the school.
Congratulations to our newly appointed Year 12 Prefects who will lead the class representatives and the student body for the coming year.
The new student leaders were introduced to the school community during an Assembly, which was also a wonderful opportunity for students to hear about the fantastic clubs available to them, from Creative Writing to Music Harmony. It was a wonderful event, which showcased how students are able to be active participants in their education and school community.
'One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.'- Malala Yousafzai. Happy to all of the caring, talented and highly experienced staff at RIS and Globeducate schools worldwide.
We are so proud of our two Year 13 IB Diploma students, Anastasia and Delia, who are representing RIS at the Globeducate Student Leadership Summit hosted by in the UK. We are confident that they will make the most of this wonderful experience.
As a member school, our students have access to challenging and enriching international experiences. One of them is the Student Leadership Summit, where senior students come together for a week of learning that will help them in their roles as Student Leaders and prepare them for life beyond school at university and in their future careers. This is the first of Globeducate's annual events, which connects students from more than 55 schools in 10 countries 🌍.
Recently Dr Roach's Year 12 Mathematics Higher Level Analysis and Approaches (MAA HL) students enjoyed the challenge of exploring the application of the Binomial Theorem.
For most of them, the concept was new. Notwithstanding this, they quickly discovered that it was a powerful tool to simplify the algebraic expansion the sum of two terms, raised to any power. Having been well accustomed to expanding terms raised to the power of two into quadratics, they easily saw the pattern in terms raised to larger powers.
According to the International Baccalaureate organisation the "MAA HL is a course designed for students who wish to study mathematics in-depth and gain a formal understanding of the subject. It will appeal to students who are interested in exploring real and abstract applications of mathematical concepts. They will enjoy problem solving and generalisation."
The Year 12 MAA HL students are so far enjoying the challenge! 👏
On behalf of all the staff and students in Globeducate schools,

In the Early Years Transition Class, students have daily opportunities to take learning beyond the classroom and interact with nature and their surroundings.
Students have planted different seeds and are observing their growth. The children are also learning to become responsible by regularly watering the plants and understanding their needs. Planting seeds, scooping dirt and nurturing plants all help to improve motor skills, foster concentration and support connections with nature.
Taisiya's inquiry into Animal Cruelty is a powerful example of how the PYP at RIS inspires students to take an active role in their learning and make a positive impact in their communities.
For her PYP Exhibition project on Animal Cruelty, Taisiya organised a non-uniform day and managed to raise €210. The next day she visited the animal shelter Canile Valle Grande to deliver the donation which was just enough for one dog kennel that stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer, super important for the shelter's most vulnerable animals.

The celebration of our Year 6 PYP learners continues!
The PYP Exhibition is an important event in the lives of the students in their final year of Elementary School. It is an exciting culmination to the learning across the Elementary years and marks the transition to the next stage of their educational experience.
Congratulations to all of our Year 6 students who are now able to put in practice all of the learning and skills developed in the Elementary School.
Happy Earth Day!

✅As a school we are committed to embedding sustainability education in daily learning through the Eco Schools programme and educational partnership with WWF.
♻️From recycling initiatives to a rooftop garden, our Eco Council student committees are doing a fantastic job of taking action to raise awareness of environmental issues in our school community and beyond.
RIS has an excellent relationship with Flaminio Sporting Club where our Year 10 IGCSE students have been working hard to improve their swimming skills since September. We have now extended this provision so that students have the option of playing tennis too!
The rewarding four-year high school experience at RIS commences with the Cambridge IGCSE in the first two years and culminates with the globally recognised IB Diploma in years 12 and 13.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students for being such open-minded and knowledgeable communicators during the recent Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition.
They did a wonderful job of presenting their Exhibition inquiries to the school community and informed us about a wide-range of topics, such as Animal Cruelty, Photography, Deforestation, Health and Wellness, Technology, Wormholes, Black Holes, Cooking, Engineering, Creative Writing and so much more!
This Exhibition process involves students exploring, documenting and sharing their understanding of an issue or opportunity of personal significance. It is a powerful journey of choice, honing skills, learning autonomously and taking responsibility and is an exciting culmination to a PYP education.
After a two-year hiatus our amazing Parent-Teacher Association is back with a Bake Sale!
This first fundraising event of the year will support a children's charity working in , Terre des Hommes Italia as well as the project, in collaboration with Amani Onlus.
The PTA aims to support a number of national and international initiatives with a focus on the education of disadvantaged children. We believe that access to education can empower future generations with the knowledge and skills to shape a better future as responsible global citizens.
