Our mission is to prepare and empower students for success in a rapidly changing world. Rome International School's educational vision is aligned with the ethos of the International Baccalaureate (IB) that puts students at the centre of the learning process. Rome International School is the only school in Rome authorised to offer the IB Primary Years Programme for ages 3 to 11 and the IB Diploma Programme for ages 16 to 18. A rich middle school programme leading to the Cambridge IGCSE provides the consistency of a true international education. As a proud member of the Globeducate network and with more than 500 students of mixed gender representing 50 different nationalities, the School is a fine example of a global community.

Roberta Di Bernardini will be moving into the role of Biology and Science Teacher at RIS. A highly qualified educator, scientist and Biology specialist, Roberta holds a PhD in Food Science from University College Cork, Ireland, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science from the University of Tuscia in Viterbo.

A skilled biologist, researcher and educator, Roberta has worked within the RIS Science Department since 2023, contributing to the delivery of our IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes and supporting students with their Internal Assessments.

Roberta is passionate about sharing her scientific knowledge and expertise.

A warm welcome to Ms. San Martini, Mathematics department.

Ms. San Martini brings over 20 years of international teaching expertise across the IB Diploma and IGCSE pathways. Having taught in schools across Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America, she also serves as an IB Examiner and contributes directly to the IB curriculum development team.

Holding a Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education from Pennsylvania State University, she is passionate about helping students build confidence, curiosity, and academic success in Maths.

Ms. San Martini is excited to join the RIS community, where she looks forward to enriching school life beyond the classroom, supporting student wellbeing, and inspiring a lifelong love of mathematics.
