The Mathematics Department Tullio Levi-Civita (DM) of the Padova University awards 5 Research Grants to support research projects in all areas of pure and applied mathematics and computer science.
Each Research Grant is for 12 months and it is renewable for one additional year. The salary is of 29.995 euro per year before taxes.
Candidates must have a PhD by the start of the Research Grant. The PhD must be obtained in a university other than the University of Padova and it must not have been earned before 2020. Candidates must not have had scholarships, grants or other types of collaborations with the University of Padova during the period 2020-2024.

The application must include a copy of a valid form of identification, a CV showing the candidate’s academic and professional experience, qualifications and publications relevant for the selection notice, a research project, and finally, if the PhD has not yet been obtained, a letter from the University of affiliation confirming when the PhD degree will be awarded. Any reference in the research project to possible collaborations with researchers of the DM will be appreciated.
Candidates must contact two referees (not Faculty members of Padova University) and ask them to send a recommendation letter directly to the email address [email protected] before April 29, 2024.
The evaluation will proceed in two steps. In a first assessment, the Selection Committee will indicate a short list based on the reference letters and on the research project. The candidates in the short list will be invited to an interview. In case of a tie, preference will be given to the less represented gender in the DM and, if not applicable, to younger candidates.

Post-doc position (assegno di ricerca) in mathematical analysis (MAT/05) of the duration of 1 year (possibly renewable) at the Mathematics Department “Tullio Levi-Civita”, at University of Padua, about the theme:
Evolution PDEs and fluid-dynamics. The gross salary is 24.320,45 Euros.
The position is funded by the research project PRIN 2020 “Nonlinear Evolution PDEs and Fluid Dynamics” (PI S. Bianchini): https://nepdef.math.unipd.it/ . The unit in Padua is composed by : F. Ancona (coordinator), L. Caravenna, E. Marconi, A. Marson; R. Bianchini (IAC-CNR), L. Spinolo (IMATI-CNR), and two PhD students. The research aims to study fundamental theoretical aspects of conservation laws or fluid-dynamics models, and their applications.

The position is for one-year, with possible extension every year upon evaluation (up to a maximum of six years) and comes with no teaching duties. The salary is 30K EUR per year (gross). There will be a two-step selection, with CV evaluation and admission to (remote) interview in case of positive evaluation of the CV.
The call does not require having obtained a PhD as a minimal requirement. However, we recommend candidates without a PhD to apply only if they are about to finish their PhD (or are in the last year of their PhD). Clearly, possessing a PhD is relevant for the evaluation.
The project will focus on the analysis of PDEs on graphs and networks, in collaboration with Antonio Esposito (U. Oxford).

Iniziativa coordinata dalla Società Italiana di Intelligence (SOCINT) e dal gruppo G-Research indirizzata agli studenti di dottorato di ricerca italiana in materie quantitative (matematica, fisica, informatica/ingegnereia informatica, Intelligenza artificiale, data sceince) che stiano frequentando l'ultimo anno di dottorato.
L'iniziativa istituisce un premio di 30.000 euro per le migliori tre tesi (10.000 euro per ciascuna delle tre tesi premiate).
