An ISTAT analysis pointed out that the Italian language is spoken by only 45% of the population, 32.2% speak both Italian and dialect and 14% of the population speak only dialect. But in Italy we have 31 dialects spoken! So this makes any discussion about which espression/word is really Italian quite impossible.
