From 19 to 23 May 2025, a group of teachers from Portugal 🇵🇹 lived a unique training experience in the city of Rome as part of a program organized by the Italian Hospitality School.

Throughout this enriching week, they explored the Italian culinary traditions 🍝 with inspiring talks and regional tastings that led them to discover the country’s gastronomic diversity, while strolling through emblematic monuments such as the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon 🏛️🍷.

They also participated in a fresh pasta masterclass 👨‍🍳 where they learned traditional techniques directly from Italian chefs, reinforcing the value of practical and cultural learning in a real environment.

In addition, the programme included spaces to reflect on key issues such as educational inclusion, diversity in the classroom and the importance of education adapted for all 🤝📚. Visits to hospitality companies provided a valuable insight into the functioning and collaboration between institutions and professional environments.

One of the most significant moments was the session dedicated to sustainability 🌱, where practices for cooking without waste were addressed and the role of gastronomy in the Sustainable Development Goals was discussed.

From May 12 until May 16, 2025 we have hosted a group of enthusiastic girls from Carlo Schmid Obershcule, Berlin. Throughout the mobility we focused on our interactive program “Healthy School, Healthy Life” in the beautiful city of Rome — a journey designed to inspire students to live healthier, more balanced lives while exploring the connection between personal well-being and the school environment. 🧠💪 From dynamic discussions on healthy habits and digital wellness to hands-on workshops designing ideal school environments, participants dived deep into what it truly means to thrive at school and beyond. 🧘‍♀️✨ A rejuvenating yoga and mindfulness session in a Roman villa, Villa Borghese helped students reconnect with their body and mind, followed by reflection, relaxation, and a delicious healthy snack. 🏛️🍅 The program also included a walking tour through Rome’s iconic landmarks, showing how the city's lifestyle, green spaces, and Mediterranean traditions support well-being — topped off with an interactive, nutritious Italian lunch. 🌍💡 We wrapped up by linking health with sustainability, empowering students to envision and present their own ideas for a healthier, greener school of the future. 📸 At the end of the journey, we celebrate their creativity and insight with a certificate ceremony and group photo!
This is more than a program — it’s a movement toward healthier schools and healthier lives.

Last week students from Muzeul Etnografic came to Transilvaniei, Romania.🇷🇴

They enjoyed a rich and inspiring learning trip in Rome 🇮🇹, full of new experiences, cultures and skills. They have learned the basics of the Italian language through fun icebreakers, dialogues and everyday phrases that help them feel more at home. In addition to learning the language, they have explored Italian gestures and expressions to learn more about the culture.

The week also introduced them to essential digital skills, such as Internet safety and the use of tools like Google Maps, Drive and language learning apps to cope more confidently with everyday life abroad. 📱

They learned about the European Union 🇪🇺, its history, core values, institutions and how decisions are made. The highlight was the visit to the European Parliament, where students saw how the EU works in action and learned about their rights as EU or third country citizens.

Sustainability was another key topic 🌱. Students studied the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and reflected on how these goals relate to our everyday decisions in education, tourism and community life. Through group work, examples of good practice and a creative green engagement activity, they saw how small actions can have a big impact.

To end the week, the students discovered the beauty of Rome through a cultural walking tour 🏛️, visiting historical monuments and churches, followed by time to relax, reflect and celebrate their achievements together.

This experience not only served to develop their skills, but also to create unforgettable friendships and memories. ✨
