As part of the Erasmus+ InternshipConnect project, we continue to highlight the partners who are contributing to the creation of a European model for better-prepared, better-supported, and more highly valued international work placements.

Today, we are pleased to share the interview with Olga Zvereva, representative of HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College Riga, our project partner in Latvia.

In her interview, Olga emphasises that work placements represent a crucial bridge between education and employment. She highlights the importance of thorough preparation, continuous support throughout the placement, and formal recognition of the skills acquired by learners.

On June 16-18 2026 our Head of Admissions, Ramsha Shahab, from Italian Hospitality School participated in the 3rd transitional meeting of INTERNSHIP CONNECT which held in Kranj, Slovenia.

Over three days, partners engaged in:
✔️ Workshops on management, training models, evaluation methods and digital tools
✔️ A company visit to Lotrič Metrology, a leading high‑tech organisation
✔️ Exchange of good practices in internship organisation
✔️ Discussions on cooperation between VET providers and companies
✔️ Cultural visits and networking activities

This meeting strengthened collaboration among partners and provided valuable insights into workplace‑based learning and innovative training approaches.

Today we look back at one of our favourite moments from 2024, when our Italian language teacher Giulia Trojano took part in an inspiring international experience at Hotel School Riga, that enriched both her professional path and our school community.
That mobility became a milestone: new ideas, new methods, and a renewed passion for teaching that still resonates with us today.

Some memories deserve to be shared — and this one continues to remind us why international education matters. Teaching assignment mobility was carried out within the project 2024‑1‑IT02‑KA121‑ADU‑000201383, co‑funded by the European Union.

Job‑Shadowing in Vitoria‑Gasteiz, Spain – April 2026

At the end of April, the chef form Italian Hospitality School Lia Ukleba completed an enriching Erasmus+ job‑shadowing experience at El CIFP Hostelería LHII in Vitoria‑Gasteiz.
She explored innovative approaches to sustainable gastronomy, zero‑waste cooking and circular‑economy practices, gaining valuable insights to bring back to our school.
Lia also enjoyed a cultural walk through the historic centre, discovering the city’s traditions and vibrant atmosphere.

This mobility was carried out within the project 2024‑1‑IT02‑KA121‑ADU‑000201383, co‑funded by the European Union.

Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) Mobility at Karabük University, Türkiye 🇹🇷
From 18–23 May 2026, our Board Member Mr. Konstantins Spakovs and Lecturer Ms. Giulia Trojano, accompanied by our students Eric and Mario, participated in a Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) mobility meeting hosted by Karabük University within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. The mobility focused on international cooperation, digital innovation in education, intercultural exchange, and the sharing of good practices among partner institutions.

During the week, participants engaged in a variety of educational and cultural activities, including:

* Practical sessions on virtual cooking using digital applications, involving participants from Latvia, Poland, Italy, and Türkiye.
* Academic discussions and collaborative workshops on innovative teaching methods and digital learning tools.
* A guided visit to the Amasra district, exploring local culture and heritage.
* A university campus tour and networking activities with international partners.
* A field trip to Hadrianopolis Ancient City and the Çetiören Recreation Area, promoting cultural understanding and heritage appreciation.
* Participation in the project’s Gala Dinner, strengthening international partnerships and intercultural dialogue.
* Attendance at the Karabük University Congress and Paper Presentation Sessions, where participants exchanged knowledge, research findings, and best practices.

The mobility provided valuable opportunities for professional development, international networking, and the exchange of innovative educational approaches among partner organisations.
