Dear PhD candidates and early career researchers,
we are happy to include further information on the upcoming AIA Winter School, which will be held at the University of Rome Tor Vergata from 29 to 31 January 2025.

Our programme highlights experts from the core areas of English Studies – Linguistics and Translation, Literature and Cultural Studies – who will share insights on the theme: Passages, Migrations, Transitions. Additionally, they will lead interactive laboratory sessions designed to enhance participants’ translation skills.

La biblioteca Raffaello in collaborazione con il Gruppo di ricerca TrAdE (Traduzione e adattamento da/in inglese), costituito presso il Dipartimento di Storia, Patrimonio culturale, Formazione e Società dell'Università di Roma Tor Vergata, proporrà a partire dal mese di novembre un seminario dal titolo Incontri su traduzione, mediazione e interculturalità.



I seminari toccheranno diversi ambiti della traduzione, focalizzandosi sulle sue molteplici sfaccettature. Verrà illustrato il ruolo del multilinguismo al cinema e nelle serie televisive, concentrandosi sulla rappresentazione delle diverse identità culturali e la resa nelle versioni doppiate. Verrà inoltre dedicata particolare attenzione al multilinguismo come veicolo di umorismo. Ci si concentrerà poi sul concetto di “invisibilità” del traduttore e della trasparenza del suo prodotto, che dovrebbe poter essere letto in maniera fluente, senza presentarsi al fruitore come un testo tradotto ma indossando la maschera di un testo originale. Verrà dedicato ampio spazio alla traduzione audiovisiva, concentrandosi in particolare sul panorama italiano, soprattutto alla luce della mutata e mutevole ricezione da parte di un pubblico in continua metamorfosi.
