The kids did their last IGCSE exam today after two years of prep with me. When I went to wish them luck one last time, I got the ultimate seal of approval you could possibly get from teens: a request for a group selfie! Gonna miss these little whippersnappers 🥰

If I could tell kids just one thing to help this year, it'd be this quote from John von Neumann (that stern-looking man below who inspired Dr. Strangelove!).
So what does it mean?
Basically, sometimes your math teacher is gonna blah blah blah and it won't make any sense. You're gonna have to just jump in, follow the steps like a robot, and do some problems - probably way more of 'em than you ever wanted to 😬 Once you've practiced enough, it starts to flow. You get used to what the numbers do, and that's when the breakthroughs happen.

📣📣📣 Shoutout to these two Louisiana teens! Their school’s motto is “No excellence without hard labor”. Which is an excellent lesson for any struggling math student. There’s no such thing as a math person, just people who’ve put in the time, and maybe had the right push 🤓
