We share with profound sorrow the passing of Daniela Petroff Simpson, alumna (Class of 1963) and Chair of Marymount’s Board of Regents (2013–2026), who died peacefully yesterday after a long and courageously borne illness.

A lifelong member of the Marymount family, Daniela served the Board across four decades, leading with moral clarity, intellectual rigor, and an unwavering belief that excellence and humanity are inseparable. Her wisdom, wit, and steadfast commitment to human dignity shaped our school in lasting ways.

An accomplished international journalist and devoted wife and mother, Daniela transformed personal tragedy into profound compassion. Her strength of soul, elegance of spirit, and deep love for Marymount will remain part of our foundation.

We will honor her life at a Memorial Service in the Marymount Chapel on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 16:00, followed by a reception. The service will be live-streamed (link to follow).

We share the sad news of the passing of Ms. Carol Calapso, a remarkable teacher whose influence helped shape Marymount for nearly three decades. From 1972 to 2001, she brought energy, insight, and unwavering commitment to her students and colleagues. Her impact lives on in the generations she taught and the many lives she helped form.

A funeral Mass for Ms. Calapso will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 3 December at 10:30, at Chiesa dei SS. Pietro e Paolo, Via Antonio Conti 189 (near the south entrance of Olgiata). All who wish to honour her life are welcome to attend.

May her soul, and the souls of all our faithful departed, rest in peace. Our prayers are with her family, her friends, and all who carry her memory forward.
